    Rear Shock

single rate and they are valved better and have a remote rez, so they hold more oil and can run cooler. Also the can have dual rate springs which only helps for little bumps.
  6. sounds like you bought bike grips and not atv grips. The bars are the same for either just the bend radius is usually diff.
  7. go HERE and click links this will take you to BenBB's site I think he has some electrical info on the Banshee. But it should not be difficult to move stuff around, but then again I build wiring harness for military applications so a banshee id kid stuff to me. I think you can find a wiring diagram on the web somewhere for referance, but since you have no battery there will not be too many connections, just keep track of what you are doing on paper and it will make it eaiser. Yep Bens page has what you need. just looked at it again!!
  8. yep that would be real good, but also get a +4 axel to compliment the a-arms
  9. I know a Fred Rael, hes race in our circut, he took first in the expert class this year but he races a YFZ450.
  10. mostly true, it does put the weight forward. But I'm only talking about a +2 at the most and that small amount of loss in traction is not really an issue in a 100 mile race. In MX you need a tight turning radius and a very nimble quad, so you go shorter to help with this, and I suppose the same could be said for GNCC style, but when you are in the desert a tight turning radius is rarely a concern. By extending the swingarm and increasing the wheelbase and changing the center of gravity more forward it will take the hard hit of lagre whoops and drops better, to enhance this you can put a log travel linkage on too and get a longer shock with larger rez to keep it cooler. come ride 25 miles of big un evanly spaced whoops with a shortened swinger and you will learn first hand what I am saying is true. Just let me get my Janssen+1 1/2 on first.
  11. I would not go shorter on the swingarm, the whoops will kill you. MX tracks dont got shit on open desert whoops, you need extra length on the swinger to help out. I never heard of loosing traction with a longer swingarm, guess thats why all the dragracers use them to help the tires slip and get less traction. but all in all, suspension is the name of the game in desert racing, the better you soak up the terrain the less tired you will get and the faster you can go. Ask BenBB he has been desert racing his banshee for a few years now, here is a link to his mods and the other bikes on the team LINK
  12. same as above, but also add in longer swing arm, antivibe sterring stem, steering damper, and gear a little higher to help reduce the power band pull, your arms will thank you after about 30 miles. A good twist throttle is also a good idea if you can get used to it.

If Adam and Eve had 2 sons then one was killed and they were given a new son, and their kids mixed.....wait how did they have kids??? was Eve getting it on with the 2 boys?? Who else lost a rib to get a chick, and what fruit did she pick?? And if God created everything from nothing and has always been there, didnt he have to create "there" before he got "there" so he could always be "there". And if so where was he before he created "There". And if he created somthing from nothing, where did he get the nothing from?? And a man wrote the bible from his own interprtation of what ever, so how do we know the good word is right or taken completly out of context? You believe in electricity don't you? You can't see that. You believe that there is an invisible force present between magnetic poles don't you? You can't see that. you can measure voltage, and see lightning, try using a compass. And I can use what to see if there is a god?????? Not saying your wrong, just saying get the story straight and have measureable proof. If you are gonna preach at us it is your responsibality to prove what your saying, not for us to dis prove.
  15. Yep, it would be nice to see Yamaha in more of the big name stuff like the Baja, or Paris to Dakar. I forgot about GNCC & pikes peak, we do own those for now. I am just sick up seeing honda rule Baja. Johnny Cambel has been kicking ass for a long time on the XR650. And all those honds in pro atv this year, at least they took it away from the BOMB. I would love it if Yamaha got back into the big bore bike's and put up a fight down there, And they should be able to make a serious effort with a YFZ or the new Raptor. It would be cool if they built up a banshee, but that would never happen since it is "being phased out" I would be glad to race for Yamaha on my raptor, just throw a little money in my motor and suspension and have me a pit crew and I'll do it for free!!!
  16. 1st TRX450R 2nd TRX450R 3rd TRX450R 4th DS650 Baja 5th TRX450R 6th TRX450R 7th TRX450R 8th TRX450R 9th TRX450R where all all the Yamaha's???? Honda is kicking our ass!!!
  17. thanks, still working on it and I plan on getting a new computer soon so I will build a real website then with our own domain name. Thanks again for the input!!
  18. made a page for the team, what ya think about it? WOR
  19. Yep I already decided the eaisest way to do it was to start fresh. I found some 3/8" steel plate and I'm having them cut me a new bracket for each side 2.25" X 4.0". I can put the peg centered over the rear hole on each side and the bolt will go through the big oval opening in the peg after welding, should be easy to reach with a knuckle joint and a ratchet with a 2" extention. After all the measurements this will put the peg 1.5" lower and move it back .90" then I will add the second peg to the rear of each peg with a slight down angle to help grip my boots better in the whoops. Thats the plan as of now, but it could always change. Tim C, I realy like the kick up on the pegs, you did a great job. By the way I am doing all this to a Raptor not a Banshee. I need all the help I can get to keep up with you guys
  20. I already have an extra set of pegs, and youre right I dont have alot of coin, but I do have access to a full machine shop with a CNC and plasma cuters and mig/tig welders. that looks about like what I have in mind Thanks for the pic. And I already machined a set of bar risers to clear my desert tank but that still aint enough for my orangatange arms .
  21. I am thinking of modifying my foot pegs by moving them down 1 1/2 inches and back 1 inch, since I am 6'5" I am hoping to get a smoother transition from sitting to standing. Has anyone else had luck with this type of mod? If so post some pics, as soon as I get this all done I will post up what and how I do it with pics and a ride report. I have alot going now so It might take a week or two. And I am going to double the width of the too.
  22. I'm sure he would want a +1 or a +2, I'll send him this thread!
  23. just kidding. Ben is having issues with his swingarm at the moment but he still managed to take 8th in the state for amature class this season. He has his bansh running again good from what I hear, now if he can just get a good deal on a round housing swingarm............
  24. Here is a pic of benbb with his new race team. Ben is on the far right
