  1. R6 would be good, and reliable too. I had a GSXR600 and put about 22,000 miles on it in just over a year it was comfortable for any trip I took evan 500 mile stretches. I was 30 with a clean record and full coverage was only 40 a month with state farm. It's gone now but a Hayabusa will soon be in my garage
  2. run the rappy, just go the desert tank and yfz front shocks, and just put the twist throttle on it. Pretty much stock besides the motor, that's why I am only 10th for now, plus I am just out of shape!!
  3. thers is no secret to alaska, that's our savings account.we bought it for 176,000 from russia and are just letting it compound the intrest. Once we use up all the oil from the arabs and everywhere else then we will go ahead and devlope clean fuels that will be to expensive for other countries to produce and we will use that and sell oil from alaska to everybody else at some super high cost. or we are gonna sit on it untill we really need it, and still sell it for 20 times what we pay other countries now. As for being ww3 that is true, with the global market being what it is all wars will affect everyone in some way. But not to worry America, we didnt get to be the biggest power on the block in only 229 years cause we are stupid!! Other countries have been around for close to 2 thousand years, whay arent they running the show??
  4. for climbing steep sand hills drop them down to 2 or 3 for the best result, and as mentioned before sit all the way back on your seat while climbing to get the best traction. if it starts to bog slide forward then when it picks up scoot back again.
  5. Well that sucks!! Oh well, I think Laura got some so we got to rely on Chris to get them posted and some sent to Keith too.
  6. where are the pics?? BenBB?? ABM?? I didnt get any taken just left the camera at home due to the rain.
  7. personaly I'll stick with the Yamaha TT600, they dont make it anymore but I love mine It has never been beaten!!
  8. hey Ben, I hope your old ass has time to recover for the Sandia GP. I think the Rappy is running ok now so I'll finally get a fair shot at you and Jason, it wiil be nice to say I won or lost due to my riding and not my quad!!
  9. after the banquet you might be able to get a lower number if someone doesnt claim it!! Good luck, jason got 56 if you didnt already know, and Chris is sandbagging in novice
  10. ran one on my raptor for 2 years, then it went bad and quit working. I cut it open to see the problem, The spring and resistor were good but there is a small brass cup that the spring sit in and it had corrsion or the plastic had just melted into it somehow. It was very thin and I scraped it off with a scribe and it read good after that. I think if you replace the resistor and take a small drill bit to clean the cup at the bottom they will last a long time!!
  11. the higher the octane the slower it burns. Hihg octane is good to help keep the motor cooler and prevent detonation. Thats why av gas is high octane, planes need alot of compression because of the altitude, high compression causes more heat. so if you run lower compression it will decrease your performance, but if you have overheating problems it will help that.JMO
  12. HEY Benbb, you better call suzie and get your number I got mine already I'm gonna be #50 amature. guess youl be looking at Raptor tail lights for every start!!! ( maybe finish too)
  13. not my bike, i posted for a friend!! but i will relay any questions!
  14. For sale, 2001 Banshee, has Janssen A-arms: +2, +1. Work shocks, FMF pipes, brand new Razrs all round, on Douglas T-9 rims all around. Extra set of paddles also on Douglas rims. New top end, machine work performed by Mission Yamaha; boost porting; cylinders and head work. 145psi at 5000ft altitude. Very strong motor. Has Tors eliminator kit, V-force reeds, K&N filters w/outer wears. New Renthal sprockets and chain. Nice looking quad. Three desert races since motor rebuild, this quad gave me a first place finish for the season. Will consider trade for YFZ 450 or $4500.
  15. how do you test a cdi to see if it is good, or can it be tested other than plugging it up and try to start it?????
  16. sounds good, there are some nice dunes at Yuma. I'm in Albuquerque, if you drive through and got the banshee be sure to bring your jets for 5000' and I'll show you some great riding( If my shit is running at the time ).
  17. any ideas??
  18. pulled in to the garage yesterday running fine, and pulled out the plug to go get a new one. get up this morning and put the new plug in and nothing happens it wont start!!!! pull the plg out and put the old one back in, still wont start!! pull it out and hold it to the block and push the button and there is no spark, so I tear rthe whole bike apart looking for loose or bad connections. I found some exposed wires where the insulation had been rubbed away near the CDI box, bad news i suspect. I get the meter out and find that the secondary coil is bad and the spark plug cap is bad, according to the book, but everything else reads within specs. I pull the coil off My TT600 and didnt test it but put it on the raptor and it does the same thing, so I check it and it has the same problem!!!! My guess is the CDI is bad and is blowing out the secondary coil and the plug cap, maybe??? Any suggestions on a upgraded coil and high rev CDI??? I should probally get both!!
  19. yep, MALS 11 Avionics, confedential clearance is what was required to get into the AVI gate the little black boxes required the Secret clerance!! And not a range coach, was one of the 4 PMI 's for MAG 11 for 97, and got certified through division schools at camp Pen. And yes your a BOOT, at the most you got 5 years unless you werent born in 81, and your not 23, and you joined earlier than the age of 18, which at any rate I still had more time in than you have in now on my first enlistment. But your still in and that is what counts, I wish I still was but we dont always get what we want. Dont take this all hard and get hurt, just giving you shit Hard Charger, but your still a boot A fixed wing aircraft saftey mechanic?? what the hell is that?? O level stuff I would guess! And you must have had a really low cutting score to be a E-5 for 3 out of 5 years, or your just really shit hot!! E-3 at best out of boot camp(which was when??) then how much school before your first duty station? then you go through E-4 that fast and now an E-5, could have got it by being the best of the best of the best, and congrats if you did that's not easy. Just wondering????????
  20. Ahamay04, I been out for almost 6 yrs, and the crap I worked on is so old nobody would care how it worked, as for not telling my clearnce, it's a matter or public record alredy, and it's not active for the military at the present, but only in the civilan sector where its called by a different name which I wont say just to make you happy!! Semper Fi!!!! BOOT !!!! hope your enjoying cherry pit!!!!
  21. not hard at all, good trick is take piece of cardboard and punch holes in it to match the bolt paterns of the case and put your bolts in it as you take them out, works great on my four strokes with 9 million bolts in them!!
  22. my TT600 was doing that, it felt like it was the chain skipping under a load. It turned out to be a bad shift fork shift cam that was allowing it to slip between gears. it only did this in first and second though. Does yours do it in all gears???
  23. IPC 610 IPC 620 Security level Secret clerance Motorcycle endorsment CPR bunch of Electronics certs from the Military USMC MOS's 6412 , 8531 thats about it!!
