    wheel size

Getting some sand star paddles...need to know pros and cons 8" vs. 10" wheels, was thinking 20x11x8...stock bike w/T-5's twin K&N's 14/41 gearing.
  2. What should my compression be reading? I live in Phoenix AZ...I think the elevation is about 1300 ft above sea level. My bike is only 1 year old, with T-5's and twin K&N's(no air box)Everything else is stock. I kicked her 10 good kicks(throttle wide open, fuel off, ignition off.) The gauge read 115 psi on both sides. I warmed up the engine first. I run klotz @ 32 to 1, broke her in with 2R. I think it's a little low...is this too low?
  3. I jusy installed my T-5's a couple weeks ago. Just like the guys are telling you...put a little muscle on the springs(stock ones will work) I just used pliers, but vice grips and a little grunt will do it. Put a little hi temp grease(disc brake grease will work) on the o-rings located on the inside of the pipe, where it slides over the cylinder spud. Attach the springs, then loosely install the front STOCK mounting bracket off the old pipes...my didn't line up either, like the guys are saying, the bracket will be in a forward position, twist the pipe a little to tweak it into the best fitting position. then loosely attach stinger's and silencers(using supplied rear silencer hangers..I had to buy them seperately) When you have everything in position, start tightening down the front hangers. I had to play with the hanger/pipe position a little...holding the hanger while I got the bolt started(not forcing it though) It actually was really easy, just take your time. You'll love the new upgrade Oh yeah don't forget to reverse your radiator hose(Toomey has detailed instructions on their web site, if you don't already have them.)
  4. Done the exact same thing, installed new pipes and re-jetted her, didn't start...well ended up being that choke tube disconnected, and I ran it through the mental check list and still missed it. You're not the only one here who's done that
  5. Just installed T-5's and jetted Runs great. The problem I'm having is fitting the stingers onto the head pipes. There seems to be too much play. A little exhaust leaks out on the left side where the joint is. I'm using the black rubber clamps off of the stockers. Do I taper the end of the stingers to tighten up that joint? If so ...best method? Also I bought these gently used, and was I suppose to get rubber brackets for the silencer/frame mount? The holes from silencer to frame don't line up when stinger is all the way seated on pipe, is that due to excessive play? Please anyone with answers.
  6. Banchetta, thanks for the reply. Where can I get the best price for PT's...anywhere other than Duncan? Or Ebay? I am seriously considering the mids now. I have found a place where Fatty's complete with powercore2's $394. I also can get TR6's for $400...but the guy that had them said they have no lowend, and are over priced. He drags though. Midrange pipes might be a better fit for me...so I'm not limited.
  7. banchetta...how did your PT mids do in the dunes?
  8. Hey guys...I can get TR-6 pipes 2 weeks old for $400, Fatty's new for $400, or PC's new for $389...I've been debating this for a little while now, but I'm ready to make a move...thought I'd run it by you more experienced riders out there. Riding will be desert/dunes. I've thought about PT's as well...but looking for a deal. I plan on bolting on a cool head soon, and installing Deltas. Not sure if I'll do any internal mods. If I do, It'll be after my first top-end job, and I'd probably buy CPI's I just want a fast dune bike, that I can ride desert/wash as well. Also at what point do I need that crank welded and trued? Thanks for the advice
  9. Banchetta, which pipe would you recommend for( 50% desert/wash riding )50% dune riding? I want a pipe that will grow good to mods. I can't FREAKI'N decide Thanks
  10. I just wanted to know if anyone bought procircuit pipes from Carbide's moto world for $389 (pipes & silencers). The reason I'm asking is evey where else they are priced alot higher...a good deal ,or too good to be true
  11. I wanted to know what good port work done by a reputable source would run me. I want to dune the shee, and ride open terrain with it.
  12. Just wanted to know which filter set-up is better. Pro-flow K&N 2 into 1, with lid off air box, or twin K&N clamp on's, no air box. Which gives better flow. Will be buying pipes soon. Open terrain riding and dunes.
  13. Pro-circuit pipes, any good? Dunes and open terrain riding.
  14. Hey banshee pros, need a little help here. Hate to beat on a dead horse, debating between CPI's, toomey's, or fatties. I ride open terrain, and plan on frequenting the Imperial Dunes. I was told CPI's would be a great choice over the other two, future port work..mods. Not sure when I will be able to do other mods. How well will the CPI inframes do on a stock setup? Also with pipe and filter setup( Is 2 into 1 filter better or twin K&N's) Will I need the crank welded and trued, and a better radiator? Thanks for your replies..
