  1. How much for the left j-arm?
  2. Before making up you mind on the single carb idea, talk to a few people who actually use or have used them. I have one on mine, and it was probably the second best mod I have done, with porting being the best. In my experience, it really helps the throttle response, as well as low to bid power. The top end seems just slightly improved over the stock carbs, as well. If you are looking for a light switch type of power which works well for racing, then you will want to stick to bigger than stock duel carbs, but for duning, I feel that the single is a great addition. I would just say that if you do get a single set up, get the set up for the ported motor (35 pwk instead of 33), since it sounds like you will be geting it ported soon anyways. As an added bonus, the single set up can be rejetted much faster than the duels.
  3. You definatly need the special puller. Do not try using any other type of puller or prying, it will destroy the flywheel. As for me, I use the puller with it inserted fully into the treads of the flywheel, then use the impact wrench on the puller. Pops right off.
  4. Mine has been shaved .040" and I run on the crappy ass stuff that the peoples repblic of California call high octain pump gas (91 octane), and I have no problems. Also, I am running at sea level in 65-90 degree temps (Glamis winters). Shaving .010" off is not going to do much for you. If a shop told me that going .030" off was too much for a Banshee on pump gas, and that he recomends only going .010", I would take my bike and run. I wouldn't let someone with that little knowledge work on mine.
  5. I would check the CDI box first, with a borrowed known good one to see what happens. My bud had a CDI going out, and it was a bitch to start, and sometimes you would even have to pull it with another bike and pop the clutch to start it. Once the CDI was replace with a new one (aftermarket box of course) it starts and runs fine.
  6. A stock size blaster piston is the same diameter as an .080" over Banshee piston. You can use them, but you have to have a long rod crank because the Blaster pistons have the pin a little closer to the top of the piston. Also, to make it work, you must have the head reshaped because the blater pistons have a different shape on the crown than a Banshee piston. This used to be how people created a 370 long rod on a Banshee. There is another option for doing a long rod though. Wiseco now makes pistons designed for the Banshee which has the pin relocated for a long rod crank, but has the normal Banshee shaped piston crown, so that you do not have to mess with haveing the head reshaped. Also, these wiseco pistons are available in smaller diameters, so you don't have to cut your jugs to .080 over to go to a long rod.
  7. email me and we will talk. I live in the Los Angeles area, and might be willing to drive out there to look at it. Also, email me some pics and your phone number.
  8. i think trinity recomends the 35 for their 420 kits, but I am not sure. I would call Trinity and ask them. They do alot of 420 kits as well as the carb kits, so I sure they will send you in the right direction. I do know for sure that Trinity recomends the 33 for a stock motor and the 35 for a ported 350. I would think that the 35 would work well on a stock 420, and a 38 would be the ticket for a ported 420.
  9. For bottom end to mid range, the best mod I have found is the 2-1 carb as already mentioned (about $475 new). Also, increasing compression helps also, which can be done by either shaving the stock head (about $50) or using an aftermarket head with interchangable domes ( $250-$400 depending on brand). You can increase compression to about 160 psi on pump gas, or go even higher if you are willing to always run race gas or alky. Port work can also be done to help low end, provided the builder know that low end is what you are after. If you decide to go for the port work, do some homework first to find out if the person you are sending you jugs to knows what they are doing before you let them cut. The cheapest mod for increasing low end (at the expense of top speed) would be to change the gearing. My wife likes alot of low end on her bike, so she runs a 12 tooth front sprocket. I have heard that V-Force reeds ($225) increse bottom and mid range, and I have bought a set but have yet to install them. I am sure that increasing displacement with either a big bore kit or a stroker crank or both willl help low end as well, but I have no personal experience with these mods, and they can be quite costly to do. If you realy have a big wad of cash burning a hole in your pocket, then look into a custom set of jugs with power valves.
  10. 127 degrees in the summer, so don't go then. If you want to go there when the most crowds are there, the go any holiday weekend from november through march, with Thanksgiving and Newyears having the largest draws. The only problem about driving that far to dune Glamis, is that once you go home, you will be so disapointed with all the places you dune ride now. Glamis rules.
  11. Also, keep in mind that your speed on a speedometer is based on how fast the wheels turn, while speed on a GPS is based on terrain covered. Could it be that the wheels are slipping a little being that you are in sand? Perhaps the speedo would be closed to the GPS if on hardpack. I don't know, but just a thought.
  12. I don't know the answer to your question, but I want to point out that a stock Banshee stator wont push 100watts of lighting. The stock lights are 30 or 35 watts each, not sure, and they max out the stock stator. For higher wattage lights, you need an aftermarket stator. And if you are talking about lights which are 100 watts each=toowatts total, many aftermarket stators won't handle that much either.
  13. I purchased from him in this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBay...item=2438106113 He never shipped it to me. I paid for the item in less than 24 hours via Paypal. After not receiving the product weeks later, I contacted the seller. I was told out of stock but would ship soon. Still did not receive product. Contacted again with no reply. After about 6 weeks and still no product, I left negative feedback for the seller: "Complaint : I paid in 1 day via paypal, 6 weeks & still not recieved product or tracking #" Soon after leaving feedback, I recieved a refund via Paypal (upon which I accepted, even though I lost some money due to Paypal fees). I was then contacted by Squaretrade to retract my negative feedback. Since my feedback was purely factual, I refused to retract it. I had planned on placing a followup which stated a refund was received instead of product, until I saw p4rperformance response, which is a lie: "Response by p4rperformance - next time give correct address,i lost money on shipping this to you seveal times" If he did ship this, why did he not ever produce tracking numbers as I requested in an email to him? I double checked my address with both Ebay and Paypal, and both were correct (I paid via Paypal). I checked the emails I sent, and they were correct on the address also. If you look through his feedback, you see that his negatives all come from non shipment of goods. And each time he has a negative, he gives the buyer a retaliatory negative as well. By doing so, he is able to coax many people who leave a negative feedback to retract the negative through Squaretrade in exchange for haveing their negative removed as well. This is the first negative feedback I have ever recieved on ebay, and I am pissed. Do youself and the entire Banshee comunity a favor and don't buy from p4rperformance. The frauds name is Manny according to square trade and hada chavez according to ebay. His email address is [email protected] The coward does not list an address, only a phone number, and that he does not answer. You only get an answering machine which he listens to at his leasure.
  14. My AllPro Cycles Stage 2 ported bike easily outruns my wife Trinity Stage 3. I would probably look elsewhere. Theirs in not bad, I just think others do better.
  15. NGK B8ES
  16. Also, take into consideration, if you wish to go to a mixture with less oil such as 40 to 1 or 50 to 1, make sure that you use a high quality synthetic oil. Also, remember that oil displaces fuel in you carberation, so switching from 24 to 2 to 40 to 1 can meen that you are now getting more fuel in you air to fuel mixture, and may therefore need to make jetting changes to get the carberation correct.
  17. Recreation Unlimited has had good prices on their kits in the past as well, And I have purchased 3 sets off of them without incident. But be warned, that others on this board say that they have been having problems with them lately.
  18. I have one on mine and one on my wife's quad. Both fit fine under the bars, but we both have stock stems and bar clamps. I do have and aftermarket bar though, and it still worked. As for the plastic, get the tank in place, and put the plastic up against it to mark it to see where you neeed to cut it at. The cut does not have to be perfect, because it will be partially hidden under the tank. The top brakets, as mentioned are just straight pieces with a whole on each end for a single screw to come through, easy to fabricate. I do love my tanks, with a ported bike, they are a must in my opinion. The stock tanks just don't last long enough on a ride. One side note, the tank I have is rated as I believe a 5.3 gallon model, but when bone dry, mine swallows a full 6 gallon gas can, so it is even bigger than rated.
  19. Never had a problem with Wiseco yet.
  20. Just my opinion, but if you have to ask if you can handle it, then you probably are not ready for a Banshee.
  21. Sounds outragous to me. Tell them to stick their shipping fees where the sun don't shine and buy from some one else.
  22. Never heard of it before, but I would be willing to bet that the only way it will make you faster is by ruducing weight (your wallet will be lighter).
  23. I put one on mine and the wifes bike. Like mentioned above, they are not for all out top end performance. If you drag, then go with big duels. If you want to increase your low to mid range, but keep a top end that is as good as stock, or maybee just slightly improved, then go for the 2 into 1. Best mod I have made so far.
  24. FMF fattys and no complaints here, but I have heard several others say that the CPI inframes work realy well. I had a set of Toomey T5s, and they were good, but I preferred the FMFs.
