We are starting trials to run banshee 430km in the Finke Desert Race in Alice Springs.Our first Trial 12th Feb blew left cylinder at 128km/hr due to running lean on left.We are pulling bike apart Tuesday.Right side is choc brown on spark plug . Jetting was ok.Banshee is 2003 running fmf fatties weld crank was bored to max with wiesco pistons(we did have) .We need assistance ,suggestions on best formula to race 210 km out in the desert and then come back.Our fuel stops are 60km apart. Any assistance would be appreciated since we have the chance to Rebuild Better on the test track than at the race. $400.00 Aus Just to Enter

adjust wheel alignment ,hit anything lately,sounds like right wheel toe in would be worse on tar

jmc are good comes with extra internal sleeve and come up good when polished

just a quick note i extended my stock arms 3 inches each side by setting up jig and welding in slightly larger chromoley tubing. have had lots of air time no bends the only time i bent the ball joint locator was when i hit wash out side ways but other than that the suspension absorbs all. Extra ht gained was 60 mm compared to stock bike

good polishing meat head am in the s/s and alloy fabrication trade good trick to double grit mop wheels and put in oven at 100 degrees to take moisture out

not here,sharks are pussies ,its all crocs and stingers,we wouldnt have time for swimming were on a riding holiday dont forget, we could start in the swamp mud up to the waist then hit the bush tracks for flat out speed,no people no hassles no paperwork. all this plus a 3 pub crawl for the 5mile trip home. we need volounteers for this assignment

Over here in Aus we have miles of useless bush tracks,mud pits ,sand dunes etc that we can ride on. we dont have all the paperwork etc u guys haveover there have just to ride on somone elses place .so im thinking all u blokes dismantle your bikes ,pack them in a box,pack your suitcase,bring ur helmet and get you arse downunder and we will show u around and have a couple coldies as well.The only thing is dont bother bringing swimmers because u dont go in the water up here.

i run kenda klaws and they seem alright, flips the bike on the tar or the beach make sure u get 6 ply and make sure u dont let her go on the tar

nice choice We use that acid at work under strict conditions to strip weld heat marks of stainless steel if you forget about the stainless and leave it for a few days its like holy shit i got to make another one again. Depending on strength that acid eats thru gold and can get in your bown marrow and start lukemia (no shit) take the pipes to a chrome works and im sure they can sought it

Good choice i have a 2001 screamer and what a ride lifes to short not to have a shee. Mine was ex race bike so i got to tune and tune and cuddle and then go flat out holy crap but its worth the time to ride quick and blast all the mates off the worst part is waiting for them to catch up

I pulled everything apart,because i cant stand things that dont run right and i need to know the bike anyway.Cylinders ok,reeds ok i backed the idle of and choked it and it stalled at first notch so i dont think its lean.this guy had the bike right on the edge i think .is there away of checking the timing advance simplisticly . im in Darwin australia and right now its 31 degrees and the time is 11pm Tuesday night

If any one can help ? I recently brought 2001 Banshee with gold series fmf and the guy said its bored and ported to max.Starts ok idles ok jetting good plugs light brown but runs hot quick and i lose powerband at wot (no go) back of on the throttle and it peaks a bit but still missing (occasional bark from back fire).tors system is disconnected but carby tops retained for better seal on carbies aftermarket throttle fitted.when stopped after hr of riding radiator has great bubbling noise (HOT HOT) any ideas would be appreciated

I am having the same problem and i seem to drop out of power band until i back of on the throttle.I have fmf pipes and tors disconnected as well. idle is ok im about to try 25:1 mix because i think im oiling plugs maybe also it seems the left side changes note thru the exhaust when i loose power it switches on off

Darwin Australia Guy's this is my first post (new member thing) Over here we get approx 2mt of rain in 5 months so the riding is pretty awesome if any one wants to know more reply
