I will second that... The motor runs about 20 degrees cooler than with Yamalube.

Actaully it is the 2003.25 Powerstrokes that first came with the 6.0. You could still get a 7.3 in the early part of 2003. For about the first 3 months of production, some of the 6.0's developed injector problems that resulted in fuel leaking past the o-rings and into the oil. Both diesels in the Ford and Dodge are awesome engines that will do most anything you want from them and will last for a long time with proper upkeep. I prefer the truck Ford wraps around their choice of diesel. The newer 1999 and up Super Duty line are a total dream of a truck. They ride really well and the interior is far more roomy than in a Dodge. Also, with all the after market these engines have behind them, the sky is the limit on what you can make the engine do. The 6.0's are an awesome engine now that they have wroked the bugs out. With just the installation of something like the Edge Juice with the Attitude controller, a 6.0 will put out over 400HP at the rear wheels and still get great mileage for a 7000 pound truck. I own 2 Powerstrokes. One is a 1996 F350 crew cab 4x4 with a manual 5 speed that I have modified quite a bit. The other is a 2002 Powerstroke Excursion that is my pride and joy. It just all depends on what you like better and how much you want to spend. If you want to do more research on the diesels, go to THEDIESELSTOP.COM for all the info you could ever want to know about Ford diesels. They also have forums to discuss other brands as well. I go by mattymx there and I have been there for almost 5 years and I have owned diesels only since 1990. Just make sure if you buy used, you look all over the truck, like taking off the intake tube from the airbox to the trubo. This will let you know if anything has gotten by the air filter. Good luck with what ever you end up getting. HERE ARE MY TRUCKS AND HERE Matt

Is the slide, needle, cap, and spring included? I dont see them in the pics.
-
I would take it out and run it and see how the plugs look. You might be able to get away withraising the needle a clip or to that will fatten it up a bit. Try that and the air screw as well. Start there with about a half turn out farther.

How much for an airbox with a K&N??? Is that installed with an adaptor plate or the stock way? Thanks. Matt

cant get right side TC2 mounted?!?!?!?!
motohawk replied to motohawk's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I got it on. I had to cut about 1/2 inch of the pipe off at the end. The old TC's were not necked down after the joint. The new ones are. Cut it off with the Dremmel and all is good. -
Have you tried to dial in the air screw? That is a good way to tell if you need a different pilot. Get it running and turn the screw until it idles best. Under 1 turn out and you need a bigger pilot and over 2.5 and you need a smaller one. That will get you going in the right direction.

I decided to get rid of the old FMF Turbine cores and go with new TC2's. Left side went on fine, but the right side is killing me. It only needs to go another 1/2 inch and it wont. I have checked for burs and there are none. I am about to kill that damn thing. Any hints??? Thanks.

Will do.... It is just horrible down low.

How about the A-arms??? What will you let those go for? My firend wants to lose the J-arms.

The FMF's will be better out of corners for sure. Way better bottom end. -
fmf fatties & powercore 2 vs toomey t-6
motohawk replied to supercoop's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I like the power delivery of the Fatties over the T-6's. If I just rode dunes then I might go with the T-6's. My friends Shee has them and he cant pull me when out riding. I am usually faster due to the power coming on sooner and less harshly. But this is in off roading out in the desert. We are about even in the dunes with him having a small advantage. I dont think the T-6's are worth the extra $150. I would spend the extra $150 on getting the head milled like .035 or finding a used cool head. -
I am at 7000 feet and the shee is running like crap. I just want to get ballpark ideas so I can start riding it in the snow we just got. I am running 280 mains and stock pilots. The low end is where it needs the most help. So the pilots are where I need to start. Thanks.

Her name would be Sydney Moon.

I needed to get some new S/A for the shee and I was at my local shop looking through the FMF catalog. I saw that they had a set of Power core 2 S/A. I had never heard of them before. I know that they turbine core 2 is their S/A, so I thought I would order them. They had a diffeerent part # and everything. When they came in, they were just the turbine core 2's. Anyone ever hear of the power core 2 spark arrestors? I had never heard of them until now, but it looks like they just do not exhist.

If you want a nice gain from fuel, use VP' ULTIMATE 2 fuel. It is designed to give any and all 2 stoke engines more power reguardless of compression ratio. I have ran all types of VP in modded bikes, and the U2 fuel is almost like adding a pipe. Not to a Banshee, but a bike like my CR 250. It is REALLY expensive. They also have ULTIMATE 4 for thumpers as well. That is some really good fuel, but they smell very bad.

When reeds go bad, the Shee will be harder to start all the time and will not rev as high. Kinda like it has a clogged air filter.
-
I am running Carbon Tech low end reeds and love them. Most after market reeds you can buy are worth it. They are better than stock, and carbon fiber reeds respond faster and for me seem to last longer.

This site looks killer now!!! Good Job!!!! Matt

I smelled a little coolant at Pismo a few weeks ago. It turned out to be an overflow line that is different than the one going to the res tank. It will dump it right on your pipes. I just have no idea why there is a different line there anyways.

I read in Hot Rod magazine a few years ago and they did a dyno run with a set stock plugs and a set of "side Gapped" plugs. On the 350 Chevy they used, there was a 7 HP gain in overall power. That engine made just over 400HP. That is just about a 2% gain in power. If it is worth that on the Banshee engine then go for it. I dont see it hurting anything if done properly. Matt

If you can afford it, get the SST with matching silencer. If you do not want to spend the $$, then opt for the Fatty or Rev. I would pick the Rev over the Fatty if you race in MX on more open tracks and are an advanced rider. Another thing would be to run the Rev pipe and a Shorty silencer. The best of both worlds than is almost like the SST.

Dirt bikes are my specialty. I am a big fan of FMF pipes. All my bikes and kids bikes have them. The 'Shee has them as well. For the 125 you have 4 pipes to pick from that FMF offers. First is the Fatty. Great mid on up with a little more off the bottom. The Rev pipe is all about top end power. Good in the mid, but not so good below the mid. Next is the Factory Fatty. A little more aggressive than the Fatty with a little better HP. All of these can run the same or stock silencer. Last is the SST. This pipes offers more everywhere. Bottom-mid-top. I just put one on my sons bike (RM65) and it pulls me well off idle compaired to the stocker and revs way more than the stocker. The SST requires its own style silencer as the end (stinger) of the pipe is of a different shape. The SST is also the most costly to buy. Decide what pipe fits your style and riding areas the best. My pick is the SST. All of these pipes offer more HP than stock and will be a good investment. Just remember to jet the bike with the recommended jets. A call to FMF and you will be good to go. I called them up 2 weeks ago when I got Fatty pipes on the Banshee and they were great. They gave me spot-on jetting info. Good luck. Check on EBAY as they have new pipes for a lot less than retail. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you guys... I had to go out of town for work this week and just got back last night (Thursday night). If you saw the dually, you heard it as well as it is straight piped withe no muffler. I might go up there the week after Easter, but I will know for sure later. WE do need to hook up out there. That was my first time in the dunes there and it was awesome. I just need to get a set of paddles. My tires worked well, but I am sure paddles would rip more.
