i know the kickstarter in notorious for rattling but now mine wont stay in at all, just flops around. i read once of a DIY mod you can do but can't find it, has anyone done/perfected it? thanks

has anyone evermade or seen a stock frame re fabbed into one with a second, "sub frame"? iam building one from the ground up and i was looking at the bare frame and wondered if anyones ever cut and sectioned it? the reason i ask is so i can p/c it in my small oven i work at a welding shop so it wouldn't be too challenging

is it true the longer the swingarm the more stress on the chain, i would hate to throw one going down the road. and how much longer of swingarm can the factory shock handle, i weigh 200lbs and but dont ride MX or nothing.

i know its off topic but its kinda banshee related..?? anyone ever have their wheel hubs stripe out off the axle? my 250r has a lonestar (i beleive) axle on it with stock wheel hubs, and it goes through them like crazy! do i need the aftermarket hubs or can i take these ones to a machine shop and have them hardend?? they are the right hubs and iam tightening the hell out of them, anyone have this problem??
-
haha, thanks guys glad to know people still know what they are. it is pretty quick. couple years back i sold my '86 tecate-3 that i built in my parents basement, that was definatly too fast for 3 wheels. rolled up and smoked lightly modded banshee's all day long. the R is fun, i just ordered an FMF pipe and silencer, 40mm lectron and soon some v-force reeds.
-
now iam all set and in business, just picked up a nice '85 250r and got my 01 banshee, ready to tear up the trails. anyone else here run any R's? whats the low down on them? its a ball to ride but definatly not a banshee. looking for stupid mis. parts for it if anyones got some?? expeccially aftermarket. i'll try to get pictures sometime

i used to always run vitos pistons on my stock banshee and it ran great, now i've got them in plus a pretty heavy porting job, would this be whats giving me such a hard time getting this thing dialed in, because the port timing on the pistion is already changed? if so iam definatly going to wiseco pro-lite

for some reason at idol and low end my banshee's real sluggish and seem to loose a cylinder in the lower RPM range, but runs like a top at mid and up, i've been messing with the pilot jets one size at a time, my slides are in the right carbs, my intake isn't leaking at all (started it and sprayed it) plugs are good, i cant imagine the compression is low, it starts right up first kick???? are my carbs messed up?
-
ok thanks a bunch guys, how do i tell if the slides are in the wrong carbs, i've herd of this problem before? i run vitos needles in the third position, 4th was too rich (from top down) i will try to switch slides around, then try the putting around in 2nd gear trick, thanks again!
-
iam about 1.5-2 turns out
-
that means my pilots are rich then? i can't beleive with them mods its going to need a stock pilot when my other bansh has #30?? this is stumping me, thanks though!
-
i know when i give it alittle bit of gas its easier, i havn't tried WOT
-
whats the best way to check if my pilots are the right size? this is stumping me: i got 2 banshee, one that is all stock except for fatty pipes and t3 silencers, running 280 main, 30 pilot and stock needle and air screw. then i got another one that has some pretty wild porting done to it, noss head, t5 exhaust, toomey 2into1 filter, stock carbs bored out, v3 reeds and some modified vitos pistons running a 350 main 27.5 pilot, vito's needles in the 3 position and it seems awfully dead on low end and is hard to start when warm, sounds rich doesnt it? i had a 30 pilot and it ran crappy, went down to a 27.5 and it ran alittle better, stock just seems too small doesn't it? (25) also it doesnt "pop" anymore when i slow down, like on the road. when the idel comes down when i let off the throttle they are supposed to go like "ding ding ding ding" now it just goes "MMMMMM" like the rolling tires is the only thing keeping it running but if i pull the clutch in it wont die, always, but sometimes will. please help

did some more process of eliminating. borrowed a buddy's brand new tires and rims and took care of the problem 100% since i got brand new douglas' and old trailclaw's, i would have to say its the tires now. airpressure is fine, i didnt even konw about the alignment?? interesting. and yes 80+ is easy last time i got clocked with radar was about 95mph. and i had to hold on like a SOB i mean seriously its a terrible shake. thanks for the reply's guys!!! what about fast trekkers they usually good and round???
-
my question is how often can a tire maybe or bad (like a ripped cord or something) and do stock hubs usually bend? first i thought my wheels were bent so i bought new ones and it still shook(around 75-80 and up) then i took the axle to a machine shop and they straitened it while at the same time i put new axle bearings in it, and the thing still shakes bad. i know its not a flat spot in the tire so im left to assume a hub is bent?
