  1. Nice avatar man, I must have forgotten giving you permission to use my picture? Now granted I was rough on you in your Elka thread, but come on man this is no way to earn respect. If you have a beef with me bring it here or take to PM. I'd appreciate you removing my picture from your avatar
  2. Take a look on rv.net tons of useful firsthand information.
  3. FUCK NO! I don't give my SSN to anyone. What's up with Elka? They can't build shocks to peoples specs right the first time so they are resorting to identity theft.
  4. Thanks Dick! Your 150 something post havin ass ought to calm down, the boys around here will serve up a dose of reality newby style real quick. Enjoy your Elkas
  5. PC just down the road? I drive by that joint twice a day , let me know if your headed out my way.
  6. From Alba? A few weeks? GOOD LUCK! BTW lose all the BS pictures in your sig.
  7. Ahh, I understand now. I thought you had PEP's on it, took them off, and installed the Elkas.
  8. Wow.... Stan I'm sorry to be reading this, having never been in this position I really don't have any good advise other than to keep your head up, try to think things out with out emotion (if that is possible) use logical thought processes, and remember that everything happens for a reason. Good luck man, drop me a line if I can do anything.
  9. Just curios here, please don't take this the wrong way. Why? go from PEP to Elka? Can you give us a brief synopsis of the similarities (if any) and the differences? Sort of a back to back comparison. Thanks. The new bike is very nice BTW.
  10. Looking real good, thanks for keping us posted with your progress.
  11. No it is not. Broke, I'm curious - what did you replace the PEP's with?
  12. I'll be 30 this year, but it feels like 60 WTF?
  13. Ha, what a jerk - made some calls they sold the entire operation to Eibach Springs... OK try this one http://www.vandlpowdercoat.com talk to Larry
  14. ^MUST be a super clean work enviroment too! Patience, good notes and a stong desire to learn & understand what the smallest change equates too in terms of the shocks performance will get you very far. This is not a skill that is easily learned, it takes time and lots of practice. Good notes tracking each change made wil serve you well. Check racetech's site, they have a few seminars comming up. I don't need a tour guide, that is the fun part. We were out there for an impromptu race of sorts that another site puts on. I was riding my wifes 400EX - nuff said. He laid down a blistering time - we joked and said because of his weight he had better traction. He said he going up to Dumont for the cleanup weekend and to finally get a ride in Suspension's Unlimited new 2 seat mid-engine car.. When are you going to head down this way? We'll hit up the G.
  15. ^^ Gonna have to buy the race tech kit or some one elses kit. The OEM seal head is not serviceable....so it has to be replaced with one that is.
  16. Good assortment of tools here, obviously the tools you'll need are towards the bottom of the page. http://www.racetech.com/shopping/shopdispl...9&showPage=dirt Here's an article written by one of Walt's home boys (Walt I rode with Mike out at Glamis on 3/10, that guy is fast!) Breaks things down into leymans terms, I don't have the time to do this so I'll just paste this... http://www.atvconnection.com/atvconnection...avel-a-arms.cfm
  17. Matt, talk to Don SR (the owner) or Miles (easier to get on the phone) tel them I sent you.
  18. Personally I like +4, worked very well for me. Is your AFCO rear a coil over or nitrogen only? Either way if it was tuned for a -3.5" arm it will require some valving work and anew rear spring for a +2 or +4 arm. I'm guessing your bike is set up for flat track racing and while the AFCO's may work well in that situation they are JUNK in the dunes. If you still have your stock rear shock send it out for re-valve & re-spring to match the new arm, then you can just swap the entire rear section for either dunes or the track.
  19. Justin, at risk of hijacking Matt's thread I think you are missing my point. I'm not suggesting that you rebuild your shocks every season, just change the oil. During that process any problems or worn parts can be adressed. I'm sorry you are not pleased with the TCS rear, I think it's one of the best bangs for the buck, just sad to see you give up on it so early. If you were in any way familiar with the actual velocities and forces that are exerted on theat rear shock, perhaps you would be a bit more understanding. Are you sure it has failed? Fluid leaking? Fading like lack of nitrogen? Have you taken it off the bike and to someone familiar with TCS shocks for a cut and dried diagnosis? Are you sure the saft was not damaged and ruined the wiper seal? Lots of variables..... If I can help let me know. Matt - You know the 2 places I'd be spending my $$
  20. Hey I'm late - WTF is new! Happy B-Day
  21. Race a holic, my apoligies , my intent was not to tarnish your reputation, just to inform stephen, perhaps "BS" was not the right choice of words. IMO that piece you have is far superior to a comprable LSR swinger, good luck with your sale. Yes I used to run CC stuff on my banshee (sold the banshee) with great results, Kevin the owner is a very good friend. Yes I used to work at Eibach and did some prototyping with Kevin on his current a-arms. His swing arms have not undergone any serious design changes in 2 years, no need for it.
  22. Wow some actual intelligent some what fact based discussion going on - I like it. Matt give me a shout again if your not tooo busy triying to win computers on the radio - just to discuss your thoughts. Walt - Hey stranger CC me on the PM, I like to think I used to know a few things, fun to stay in the loop. You all settled out west now? Justin, oil change minimum every season, not sure where you come up with your figures on pricing.....You spent good $$ on your engine right? Change the oil in it to keep it running? Spent good $$ on those fancy shocks right? See where this is going.....Spen a few dollars on some tools, learn to do it yourself, you control the quality and it is actually quite simple. Here is what I think (yeah here we go) You have to ask yourself do I realy need all this adjustment for riding dunes? Can I actually discern the different changes the high & low speed on compression and rebound make? How much more enjoyable is my duning experience going to be with this set of shocks? I'll be the first to argue that suspension is the best $$ you can spend for your quad, but do really need to buy the biggest name most expensive shit out there? Ah what the hell do I know? I ride a 400EX for christ sake!
  23. http://www.teamrts.com/ Great guy's great work, great prices.
  24. Justin, Todd is very busy as usual, if he can not help you out get in touch with Joe at http://www.atvsuspensiontech.com tell him I sent you, explain your issue and see what he / they can do for you. Joe is TCS's single largest distributor and has the ability to make things happen. And yes your shock need to be serviced once a season MINIMUM. Let me know if there is anything I can do.
