  1. hey everyone, I got a stock head from another bike and was thinking of having it shaved to put on my banshee.....I have fatty's and powercore 2's and k&n with lid off..........will this shaved head give me more low end or high end? or both? what should be the amount done? I ride almost all trail riding and want more low end, will this help or hurt? thoughts? thanks
  2. holy hell.......did i read someone was running a 64 to 1 ratio...... what planet do you ride on....lol. any banshee should be ran anywhere between 30-1 to 40-1 unless i am in left feild........heehee new run it at 24-1.......but only for break in... then run at 36-1.........that is a nice area to be:)
  3. went on a ride where we ride all the time and had the basnhee running weird... Got pipes and k&n with lid off and w/ 310 mains and 1 up on pilot....stock clip slot too........ well the problem was it would idle fine and wide open great too, hit powerband great, but when just cruising, then hit it, it would sputter, then a back fire out of one cylinder, then open up into powerband.......... and if i am under a load, like a hill climb, it seems ok..........just a mid throttle, then hit it, it kinda does the sputter thang......... not a big problem , but wanna find out why and fix it? to rich, or to lean? thoughts?? oh, and it seems a little hard to start when cold.......dont know if this is related if warm, first kick............cold maybe 8-10 kicks
  4. hey there, i was thinking of having the stock head milled for more power... but is this a reccomended thing to do? will it add more low end or high end... will it take away low end?? my banshee has fattys/ w/powercore 2's and K&N w/ lid off.......and jetted of coarse....... should i consider this option? thought anyone? thanks
  5. Hey man, i had the same problem, then bought a billett one.... Well after 20 minutes at Florence, the damn thing fell off and lost forever... I found out that it was not the kicker lever or bolt or ball or spring.... screw all that repair crap, been there done that....works for 2 months then blah. buy a new one from yamaha......the stock one comes with a whole new assembly and works great..........rebuilds dont fix the pivet shaft....... i had learned the hard way.... just my 2 cents...
  6. Does anyone have a strong feeling on the Kenda Klaws or the Razrs or the Holeshots.........which one last the longest and has the best hook up, I really dont wanna spend the 80 each for the holeshots.........do the Klaws work good? thanks
  7. uhh............your a premium memeber? you should be answering the questions, right? heheee
  8. looks lean to me.........170 mains are pretty much stock..... what do you have for mods or is the bike stock? i would maybe put in some bigger ones for sure depending on your mods pipes? k&n? elevation?
  9. so, i think your right.........what it the stock pilot? 27.5? if so i think i hav the 30 in there, it was a year ago when i put them in...... plus, i ride the woods all the time and this was the first sand trip since then.............so i think that your correct........i did try and turn in the screws a half turn and that seemed to help a bit, but not much.........so maybe a bigger pilot ya think?
  10. so, I have a 03 banshee, fatty's w/powercore 2's and k&n lid off... thats it for engine mods...........I was at Florence last weekend and noticed a weird thing from idle to 1/4 throttle.........mid to full throttle and power band was awesome......I have the needle in middle possiton and 2 turns out on screw...............the problem was when i was going slow it sputtered and back fired and hesitated, then i could hit the power band and go for it.... what could this be..........oh, i do have bigger pilots too.......i think one size up from stock......... help? thanks
  11. hey man..........I feel ya ... my brother recently became a Farmers agent and they offer a policy real cheap I pay like 12 bucks a month for full value replacement........and i think the deduct. is 500......so over all for a bike that I have over 9 grand into its cheap It also covers all breakage.....I know that statefarm also offers it too.... but farmers was better:) If you want his # let me know
  12. hey guys, I need some new paddles for the rear of my banshee...... i have the skat trak edges right now and dont like them.....the v-design not enough hook up for a banshee with power:(....ya know? so a freind with a following 400ex is gonna buy them.....heeehee should i get the haulers or would the off brands like GBC or similar work just as good?..........i would like to not have to pay hauler prices:) thanks
  13. small question..........what is the piece of plastic that goes around the jet in the carbs..........i lost one while jetting and wondering what the function of this thing is and if i need them? thanks
  14. ohh........i have geared the front and rear.......better low end for trails... so out of all the mods you mention which one will be the best for moe low end power for trail riding? thanks
  15. So what failed?....you think it was the impeller?.........Is the motor seized? or will it kick?
  16. So I have a 2003 banshee.......Fatty's w/ powercore2...k&N...lid off jetted of coarse and the bike runs awesome.....I would love so more power, but dont want to start into the motor before i have to......would reeds be the next thing on the list? and can i just buy the reeds them self or do i get a benefit by doing the cage and all........... thanks ohh, do i need to have the crank welded at this time.....or is it strong enough?
  17. hey there, i got some fatty pipes real cheap, but they look terrible from trail riding, someone did not take care of them at all:( does anyone have suggestions on sanding them down and painting pipes..... i know about ceramic coating, but i was thinkong of shooting them with a high temp paint............anyone done this or ideas? will they hold up to the elements? thanks
  18. they were in the wrong carbs then i found that but now in the correct carb....it wont go all the way down...........so maybe the needle you think? but i never had the needle out, so could that still be the problem? could the seat that the jet screws into be bad....so the needle cant go into the seat far enough? thoughts?
  19. thanks for the info. i am pretty sure i have them as loose as i can...... i have looked throught the air box and the left slide is all the way down, and the right is up, with the cable being loose.............this is where i am stumped.... its almost like the needle is farther down and stopping the slide from going down.......i can see the needle seat and stop the slide....so???? ideas??? thanks again for the help and reply:)
  20. does anyone know why one of my carb slides and needles wont go all the way down......i have the tors removal kit on and i had them off for cleaning and now that they are back in one slide is off, i even tried to push it down with maunally and it wont go...........so when i push the throttle one side goes up about 1/8 inch then the other kicks in.........i hope this makes sense....does anyone have a suggestion......is the needle bent?.....or the seat it goes into bad? thanks for any help:) i do get a little back fire from iddle when i hit the throttle hard..........powerband seams real good
  21. I have an 2003 banshee and I the stock needle is bent I think, so instead of buying the yamaha stock needles i thought i might get the aftermarket ones..... any input on which ones are better??? thanks
  22. yeah, thats all done.......it has been running without the tors for a year but i think i found the problem.......i swapped the slides into the wrong carb that mad it run bad but know i have one slide not going all the way down......the only thing i can think is that the needle is bent any thoughts on that..... runs great now though.........................man, dont drink and work on carb.. hehee
  23. got new plugs in and they are good and tan..... even though it acts like its really rich, smoking bad.....and i had compression check today too.....both are great.... any other ideas......... i did check the tube between carbs, thats good too....... could it be the stator even though the lights are bright thoughts
  24. hey all, I have a 2003 banshee and last night after 5 minutes of riding the bike runs great like always.....then the throttle sticks, i also have the tors off..... then after i get the throttle fixed, i start it back up and it acts like the choke is on........so i put new plugs in and cleaned the carbs good..... and it still does the same thing.........spuddering and boging.. iddle is fine and it smokes real bad........if i hit it the bike will hit powerband, but has the bad smoke and spudders. any help would great.....any:) thanks
  25. not to be rude, but ..................come on, i ride a banshee man........doesnt everyone do that at least every ride.............i think the problem is the pivot shaft is about 1/16th to small..........and the damn lever screw you speak of has threads on it and they wear out and then the #%^&*(##$# falls off...........................oh and ratltles like a beotch.........i think i am gonna freak out now.........ahhh haaa
