Where in norcal? I'm near Redding. I was in the same boat almost a year ago. I went with the Gnarlies, somewhat similar to the Fatties, tad more low end a little less top. I switched to Rocket inframe drag pipes for better top end, especially in the sand and I am very pleased with the top end increase and didn't loose enough bottom end to bother me at all (got the noss head too which helps out bottom end torq). the power comes on smooth too. The only downsides are the pipes are a bit bulky and will make riding with shorts a bit risky and you have to trim the fenders which actually looks pretty cool. Also require sparkies for spark arrestor riding areas. I went with the air filter adapter plate and foam filter, air box lid off, but wish I would have went with and might still get the toomey 2 into 1. If you are interested in the FMF Gnarlies (best trail pipes made IMO) I will give you a smokin deal on the Gnarlies with trubine core silencers (built in spark arrestors, sounds the same as powercore) (pipes and silencers look brand new, I can put a mirror polish on the silencers if want too) sorry for the spam everybody.

The YZF 450 came out as a Red sticker bike in CA as apposed to Green sticker so there are restrictions that affect them in many riding areas too. I'd start with the 320 mains and see what your plugs look like after a WOT run, if they're very dark brown or you have any WOT bog go to the 300s, you will probably be lean at less than 300. I was lean at 280's with FMF Gnarlies, stock motor, foam filter, lid of, on a cold day (50 deg 250 ft elev.) and your K&N will flow more air. You may need #27.5 or #30 pilots, first try it with the stock pilots and turn the air screws in 1/2 turn at a time (evenly on both carbs of coarse) and see if the idle quality and of idle response is improved or improving. If it is better with the air screws all the way in or within 1/2 turn go up to the next larger size. Needle - middle clip with #30 pilot, 4th or 5th (from blunt end) with stock #25 pilot, middle or 4th with 27.5

No chance they will work W/o some custom bending and fabing and the the CPI's won't run very good with that restrictive of a Q series silencer anyway. Also I believe the stinger tube on CPI's are a bigger diameter than FMF's. Get a set of CPI's from Shrotiesracing.com The price is $525 shipped with 10% discount on a first purchase from them. Buy some clamp on sparkies for the CPI's with the money you save. I highly doubt the greenies with bother you for noise if you go to the effort of wearing spark arrestors on your silencers. Sparkies might quiet the pipes some too. I believe 2 strokes dont usually register as loud as 4s on the DB meter anyway.

I asked Minkia28 and bignasty both told me to go way up on my main size when I went fom FMFs to the Rockets on my otherwise stock motor. One of the local stealerships thought I was crazy for installing the 320's on a stock motor but it runs perfect. Almost never consult a stealership in a small redneck town, they rarely know shit. I was at 280's with my FMF Gnarlies and went to 320's on the Rockets, 200 ft elev, foam filter, air box lid off, about 80 deg. These pipes flow much more air on the top end. If you compare the diameter of the stinger tubes to FMFs or Toomeys the Rockets are way bigger. Mine is definitly at a safe rich level, could possibly go 1 main leaner but the plug color is pretty good only slightly darker than with the FMFs, and it has no sign of bogging even on a 100 deg day. The plugs have never been wet or oily when I've checked them. Throttle responce is prety similar off idle but pick up a few revs and its way snappier. You will really notice how the pipes keep pulling harder and harder all the way to the ceiling and rev out much higher, rather than getting to a certain level of power and just maintaining. Really helped my top end alot in 5th and 6th. I'd say you want #30 pilots or at least 27.5's.

But, why I think its possible is because scientists theorize that the first reproducing organism could have been a virus or retro virus. DNA chains can be replicated in a laboratory environment with the use of chemicals and heat. They don't necesarily need a living host with existing DNA to steal from (like aids does). If you look at a virus or retrovirus it is simply a short DNA chain or 1/2 of a chain that can replicate itself. DNA is simply made up of molecules of bases and acids that bond together and form a chain (polypeptide chain?). It doesn't even neccessarily replicate the same way each time because some of the building blocks, I forget if its some of the bases or acids, that are innerchangeable which cause mutations and may or may not result in a perfect copy each time, hence why they can mutate so easily and there is still no cure for aids. These bonds could easily have formed if the right molecules came in contact in a hodge podge soup of minerals solute in water. I dont know how this is so hard to concieve. It is simply chemical bonds. With enough time a chain with the right order could have naturally formed on its own. Now how do you consider a virus a living organism? It's just a complex chain of molecules. With the right molecules present it doesn't even need a "living" host to replicate it just steals/attracts available mollecules from the surrounding environment until a complete chain is formed and then it splits and starts all over again. Aventually through mutations the virus becomes more complex, over possibly a million years lets say, the now larger mass of the virus DNA chain of attracts a protien shell which protects it an more effieciently attract the necessary molecules it needs to replicate like a cell wall of a more complex cell with a cellular membrane. At some point the virus is complex and developed enough to be considered a living reproducing single cell organism. Once you get to that point the rest of evolution is simple. If you cant concieve how simple the fundamental building blocks of life really are and how a cell could theoretically come into existance from simple elements that readily esist on earth, well then you simply don't have enough science background to understand, or tunnel vision, or I might have to revoke the non-brainwash status.

Polishing parts. Every bike made today has plenty of aluminum goodies that look good polished. The tools and supplys to do it professionally will set you back about $200+ but you can make an easy $15 per hour, find a niche like I did with the Ducati pipes and you can make around $20/hr. The best part is that its tax free income too! Hehehe, well sort of as long as you dont get carried away with the volume and are carful on how you accept and spend payments. You can buy certain used parts and resell them for a lot more after polishing them on an exchange basis on flee-bay. When you get good let me know and I'll have you polish my clutch side cover on the Bansh, with a %50 discount for the polishing tip of coarse. Otherwise, get a prescription and take up gardening if ya know what I mean.

Let me subtly relate it to the game of baseball. Some players can hit the ball swinging right handed, some are better at hitting the ball left handed. Well I've had it both ways with RMatv. I ordered a full set of sand stars on T-9's with rear size 20*11*10 and they were on backorder for 6 weeks and I kept geting the "It should be on the next shipment" routine. I got sick of waiting and changed the order to 20*11*9 rears which were in stock and got them in 5 days. Another set of 25" GBC paddle masters for my dads utility quad were on back order and I didn't really care how fast they came in, they were delivered 2 weeks after placing the order.
