Axle, good point. It is best to port to your pipe. I've done 5 sets of jugs, each set coming off better than the last. I've gone through so much info that I use a modified sportport template and my own transfer design. I'm no pro at this, but last season my buddy beat a claimed trinity ported bike with jugs ported by me. Just throw on Metallica Black and dig in. It is one of the best ways to learn two stroke theory.

Itsaripper is right on the money. It is freaky how much power a GREAT porter can squeeze out of a two stroke. But even a great porter had to start somewhere. If porting interests you, I say, do your homework and have some fun making your own power. You must check out McDizzy. Print all pertainable info to have close by when your banshee is under the knife.

You need 2 packages of reeds for a total of 4 petals. Make damn sure they rest flush against the cage. If they don't, flip them over. Also, don't overtighten the screws. This will warp the petals and they will not sit flush. Instead of cranking on the screws, use blue loctite and just snug them down. Check them after a couple of hours riding.

Better crack her. You don't want to have a bad bottom ruin a fresh top.

Would you buy a car without a title? Why would you buy a quad without first finding out if there is still a lien on it? I will tell you why. Got1 didn't want to know if there was still money owed on the quads. He just wanted to get his hands on some cheap shwag and failed to ask the right questions. Would you buy a couple of quads from a kid? If you had half a brain you would know that they were stolen. When was the last time you let your kid leave a quad over at someone's house? He will get off pretty much scot free, and the poor sap that does own the bikes will get 2 pieces of junk back. The black market is what keeps thieves stealing in the first place. If everyone would quit buying those "shady" quads, the thieves would not have a reason to jack them.

Jail dosen't have hookups to the internet. If those were my quads he ended up with, he would be paying/bleeding through the nose. Thieves and their accsessories suck. I had my 1984 Suzuki 185 quadrunner stolen when I was 12. I was totally destroyed. Got1 gets what he had coming.

Aw hell, Run the spacers if thats what makes you happy. If you don't like how they ride, take em' off. If you are running spacers I will assume you still have stock a-arms. If you haven't bent your stock a-arms yet, you are not jumping high/hard enoudg to do any damage. You will bend your shock/a-arms long before you break a spindle. As for the klunking sound, my guess is that you have chain skipping problem. get a clymer's manual and follow the directions for the proper chain tentioning procedure. It is a difficult system to guess about.

LRDBlaster, you couldn't be more wrong. You can easily get 5 hp by just "cleaning up" the terrible casting that yamaha does on the BANSHEE jugs. Every set of stock jugs I have had the pleasure of taking a look inside had the sleeves misaligned, high seams everywhere, nuggets of aluminum hanging down into the passages, and every other manner of bad workmanship. The power you can get out of correcting these problems is astonishing and anyone with any knowledge of how a two stroke works can EASILY perform this mod. This will not affect the motor negitively in any way. It will give you virtually FREE horsepower.(minus the grinding bits) If you buy a banshee that is stock, this is one of the first things you should do to your motor. If you need more power, get a port kit. You can easily get 15 hp out of the sportport, without even messing with the transfers. If you are into being able to say that the engine you have was ported by "dan, mike, joe or suzy", get it done at a shop. As for me, I can claim that I did the work. Win lose or draw, it's my baby. You will gain so much knowledge by doing your own porting it will blow your mind. Never again will you pay someone to work on your "Baby". DIY, then charge all your riding buddys $200 to port theirs. You know they will want to keep up with you after you smoke em'

Just trying a bit of reverse psycology on him. Plan and simple truth is we live in a representive republic, we don't work in one. If you want someone to hire you, you have to become the person that they want, if only for 8 straight. Sell the banshee and get a car. That might help you with the ladys, too.

Good idea except it would introduce fine shavings of aluminum into the case. It would only work if you tore the motor down. If you tore the motor down, you might as well spend the $20 and get it TIG welded.

Who wants to get together for a BHQ camp, or at least hook up for a BHQ ride this thanksgiving? Remember, there was a quarter of a million people there last year, so if we all want to hook up, we should discuss this serious matter far in advance. For those that have never been to the fabled Glamis, you must not die before you experience the Banshee nirvana that awaits you this thanksgiving.

I'll just say HF is handy to have in a pinch, just don't get it on anything you don't want to melt away and dissapear for ever and never to leave a trace. You could very easly LOOSE things that get covered in HF.
