  1. Hahaha, too bad they cut the last 2000rpm off that dyno run with the CPI vs Toomeys. I guess the TR6's are good if you like shifting your bike at 7500, lol.
  2. I guess those guys haven't seen some of the cranks I have (or they can't get more than 50hp out of a banshee) if they've never seen one separate! The last one we did was separated about 1/4" and 8 thousandths off true. We pressed it back together, trued it and welded it. A lot easier than spending hundreds on a new crank. Maybe they don't know how... or maybe they are the type of shop that will tell you you need a new engine when you have a blown headgasket
  3. If the pistons you gave them aren't oversize (or enough oversize for the bore you need) you will need to buy new ones. Otherwise they are just trying to screw you. I haven't heard about needing an oversize headgasket, i've been using o-rings for a few years. It's a good idea to chamfer the intake and exhaust port so they won't catch the edge of a piston ring and shatter them. Most places will charge you $40 a hole to bore. Make sure those pistons you have are ok and send them with the cylinder.
  4. I have both. It all depends on how the bikes are set up, and the hill in question.
  5. I have a Suzuki LT250r with a GPZ600 (600cc ninja) motor. I thoght about doing an artic cat thundercat 1000cc triple. The biggest problem is I wouldn't want to run the sled's tranny, so you need to adapt a street bike bottom end. My engine builder is doing this project. He says he can get 300hp naturally aspirated out of it, and he may supercharge it
  6. You can ask 10 different people what their specs are and chances are you are going to get 10 different answers. If porting was simple there wouldn't be so few people that are truly good at it. It really IS rocket science. I'd stay away from CT. Everyone that has had work done I've talked to says their customer service is horrible and their porting is mediocre at best unless you are very specific with them about what you want. I'd send it back, says it runs like garbage and get them to make amends. If not, send it to Packard, K&T, Ripps, somebody like that and see if they can salvage it.
