does anyone have some out of frame pipes and a set of vernier calipers plus 10 mins i would love some quick measurements. i have decided to make some and if i can get a good pipe and do it cheep enough i may make a few sets and sell them cheep to HQ ers as a thank you for all the brainfilling shit i have learned since i started coming here.

Who cares about times??? first run was against a suzuki hayabusa it ran 8.89 @ 172mph second and third run against a turbo R1 with 150hp Nos 7.92 and 7.99 ha ha made me look like a goose!!! but i dont care almost had them to the 60 footer! only about .2 behind the suzuki and .1 behind the R1 What a great Night!!! need pipes and extended swingarm / wheelie bar for next time. first run was about 100 foot wheelie, my best ever, terrific!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! red came on and i had nothing to lose. ok cheers Geoff

from what i have seen NYUK only posts stupid replys where they are called for i have not seen the posts you are talking about but i would hold off criticising NYUK for a while simply because he has a lot of respect round here and you dont get that unless you deserve it. maybe you should think a little more before you have a whinge in future whats gonna happen when you need help with some thing and NYUK is the man with the golden answer but wont part with it because you bagged him. just my 2 cents Sneeky

i think the answer you are looking for is this octane level makes a very minimal difference with regard to power output. when compression is increased to create more power a hiugher octane fuel is required to limit detonation (firing too early and causing engine damage) if standard 91 octane is not giving you detonation problems then you might as well just use it. but if you want to satisfy your curiosity then fill her with the good stuff and try it i did a dyno run with 92 octane(standard here) and then one straight after with 98 octane and there was a 1/2 horsepower difference, 1/2 hp less at low revs and 1/2 hp more from about 7000 up. not realy worth the bother i dont know what the fuel is like over there but the premium fuels come in 2 levels here standard 92 oct premium 95 octane and one higher which is 98 or 99 (each fuel company has there own name eg. shell optimax, bp ultimate, ampol vortex etc. there is also the option of avgas (leaded aeroplane fuel 104 octane) this can cause power losses at high revs due to slow combustion(in a stock engine) but make i huge difference in a bombed engine with killer compression(according to a local mx bike repairman)
