  1. It also helps direct the flow straight out.
  2. NO WEARING SHORTS WITH CPI's that for sure because leg burners they are along with a little boot melting. They are awesome pipes and IMO worth having to clean the melted boot plastic off after hard agressive riding.
  3. What ever the oiling ritual is you must always do it the same way as when it was perfectly jetted, because it will affect your jetting if you change it.
  4. Sounds rich but with a 260 main and no lid thats imposible unless the filter or outerwear is cloged. I would first remove the K&N and Outerwear and get some industrial degreaser and soak for a minute and clean it and the outerwear real good. Then after it dries out completely get the aresol oil spray and give it a light even coat of oil and then pat dry and carefully put the outerwear on without getting it to touch the oily k&N and then see what it does, you should now be able to properly rejet. If it still breaks up at the top I would look into something electircal like possibly the stator.
  5. The motor was ported by me using a Race logic template and the head was shaved about .030 and the timing is advanced +4.
  6. How do I properly check compression??? I picked up a Craftsman compression tester kit and this is what I did. I warmed up the quad about 5 minutes then I removed one plug and screwed down the fitting and with the ignition off and WOT I started kicking her over as hard as I could and here is the reading I got 6 kicks=130, 16 kicks=140 and 25 kicks=150 and I just got tired after that, so with that said what is my compression ????
  7. The cutting a slot works great, I done it before but don't reuse the screws.
  8. I had a similar problem with an outerwear, here's a tip clean the outerwear with degreaser and before putting it on dab dry the oil off the K&N.
  9. I have the CPI's with my own porting, they are awesome and I love them, but let me warn you that they will shift your powerband way up and make it a little more difficult to trail ride with the light switch upper power delevery they give. Like I said I love mines and it takes a little getting used to but once you learn where the power band will kick in it's no bad at all.
  10. Once installed it can be adjusted without removing the flywheel anymore, but first you must have it installed and that requires replacing the stock one with the adjustable one and the flywheel must be removed to do this.
  11. Hey, Andrew whats up? I got the pipes yesterday and they look really nice, too bad I wont be able to put them on till friday night, school and work have got me too busy.
  12. I picked up 280,290,300's to start since the only airbox changes will be removal of the snorkle for now, I will be putting on the pipe on next week and then doing the porting the following week after that as to be able to compare and will definatly take some pics and let you guys know the outcome, thanks...................
  13. Ok more changes of plans, I also ordered the racelogic porting template and will be going to town on my jugs before putting the pipes on, does that change the range you just mentioned? and should I get the 27.5 pilot also?
  14. What size range of jet should I buy? 290 down? or ?
  15. Will the UMI plate work with a foam filter setup?
  16. Thanks for that info what about the needle? stock is fine? And as far as air filter adapters which one has the best air flow? I have heard the pro design is not as open as the intake boot and there might be some with a larger opening?
  17. I have CPI's on the way and my quad is stock and was wondering should I get a jetkit and which one or should I just buy individual assortment of jets? Iam at sea level and will be running the airbox with lid and without a snorkle for now, what do you guys recommend?
