i cut my own down. there was a post on here bout 3years ago, that pics with each step, and measurements. it was easy to do. then i had it painted to match my aarms and shit all at the same time. im a light guy, 130 soaking wet, and this was the best move i did. i get way more traction now. i have alot of ppl give me crap about it, saying i should have bought new tires or ate more.....but it worked great for me. and now when i ride stock length shees...thats my biggest issue right after the thumb throttle.....so gay i would say do it for sure....but i only had bout 150 into redoing all bushings front and rear and paint.....best mod i did. period. my brother and freinds have all gone with +2 or +4.......i eprsonally think they handle worse,a nd certanly dont have enough power to ever use it.....

i bought one cuz my shee was overheating all fo the time. it wasnt running lean either. so actually my dad made the inline piece...it seemed to help by about 5 degrees. then we added engine ice, that helped alil as well. the biggest difference that kept both of ours from overheating was the water impeller. now he has a cool head and i have a stock shaved one. we both run cool now, actually i can still touch the cylinders after riding for an hr. its running darn cool now. i would say, if your looking for only a few degrees, than get it. other wise the impeller was the best bang for the buck. and the engine ice was the second.....

i would agree to keep the shee. just nothing like it. however after riding the yfz, i was faily impressed. my girl loves riding too, but she just doesnt understand the 2 stroke shit. but she love to ride fast and have a shit load of power. so im hoping to get her a 450 so she can have fun and keep up. then on the days she has to work.....i get to ride a 450...i win both ways. i was not as impressed with the 450r honda....adn idk bout the suki or kawi....but i say keep the shee and buy the second quad. and dont buy a modded motor 450. i hear from lots of ppl the engines are built to the max from the factory......specs and tolerance wise....do much mroe = boom! besides...why would a guy dump a bunch of money into redoing a motor, then sell it? it dsounds odd. not calling him a bad guy or anything, just curious.....i do know alot of us are falling on hard times though. sooo. ambye thats it just dont leave that sweet ass banshee...ar come trade me for mine....then trade mine for his...lol

i can understand making a religious holiday for the majority. it kinda makes sense. but why cancel the american holiday? why not cancel xmas, that they dont believe in anyways? why do ppl who dont believe in christianity get that day off? i think all of those people should work it, not have trees and not give presents....i think its total BS. everyone shoudl celebrate thier own religious holidays, and only get those off of work. people that have no religion, shouldnt get it off either...after all, what are they celebrating but another consumer hoilday, if they dotn believe in the meaning of it..... im sure i'll get burned by this by you guys. becasue religion ususally starts arguments...but, we dont celebrate canada's national holidays and i dont celebrate other religion holidays, b/c they are not part of my religion. so why do so many people celebrate mine if it isn;t part of thier religion?

why not just ditch the skid plate? its just extra weight anyways?

MY 2 FREINDS AND I MADE IT UP SUNDAY TO RIDE FROM 9AM TILL BOUT 3 AND I DIDNT SEE ANY OF YOU GUYS UP THERE. SAW SOME SWEET ZILLA THOUGH. IM GLAD JEFF IS GUNNA BE OK. DID ANYONE HEAR WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GUY ON THE DIRBIKE THAT GOT CARRIED OUT ON SUNDAY?

I SEARCHED BUT CANT FIND THE PICS OF MINE. BUT MY GRAMPA DID IT FOR FREE CUZ HE CAN WELD WELL. DINT SEE THE POINT IN SENDING IT OUT. WE PUT GUSSETS AND STUFF IN IT AS WELL AS MADE A JIG, SO THAT IS CAME OUT PERFECTLY STRAIGHT. IT WAS THE BEST MOD I DID FOR ME CUZ IM SUCH A LGIHTWEIGHT. I CAN FINALLY HOOK UP AGAIN. LOL

i didnt realize you guys all had second quads. thats cool. mabye some day i will make real money and i could make a fast one as well. As ot the hill racing, it seems big on my shee, but i guess thats cuz im so much slower than you guys :yelrotflmao: but it should be fun next weekend. im anxious... just putting new chain, sprocket, and head gasket in this week. so i should be ready. one question though.... does it take a specail tool to make my rear shock stiffer? i bottomed out 2 weeks ago jumping, and need to make it stiffer...thanks guys

Not that i have anything against you guys that have really long and super fast banshees....but does it get boring just hanging out at the drags all day? also...why does noone race up the hills at silver? they do at other dunes... i race my freinds up hills, but mines mostly stock, so i cant do much more than second, mabye third gear. i just think it would be sweet to watch some of you really fast guys race up a hill, instead of down the flats... anyone game?

i'll be up there. i got a place right next to jellystone, os catching you guys should be real easy for me. count me in for some fun. i broke it this weekend, but should be ready by then, already working last nite. as to the rain, alot was still flooded this weekend, but we were up there in the rain sat morning....hope it drys up the next few weeks, we weill have to wait and see.

i have raced a few. im a decent rider, but not a true racer.....anyways, when we go for equal, piped for piped. i can run dead even with them 4, 5, 6 races in a row. give a stock 450,a dn i cna beat him. give me some heavy modded thing, and i just cant do it no matter how hard i try. they just seem to be fairly equal quads when you have fairly equal riders. but i would say the first thing i would do to that, is get some tires.....then make sure its set up for you, handlebar, shifter location, clutch adjustment. things that make you feel at home, that will make you faster with out spedning money. then just log all the seat time you can. i learned how to ride better by being left behind all the time. i was forced to ride harder and faster to just keep up. just my .02 good luck, you will beat them in time

i think it will look good. im not a big fan of the big, gaudy graphic kits. so something simple, and little. liek that is great. but it has just enough that your plasctics dont look bare. i say go for it! :biggrin:

im not sure if this is even worth the time, but i figured i woudl try. i bought a 98 ninja bout 2 months ago, as a starter bike. well this last weekend the cam broke in it and broke the rocker arms and whatnot. i will pull the head off this weekend to verify pistons and valves are ok. basically, i have run into collections problems, and need to sell some stuff... if i can get the 750$ i have into it, back out, i'd be happy. it did run good b4 this weekend. tires are down to bout 30% tread left. its been dropped, some minor scrapes and bent handlebars, thats all. anyone intrested? i could email pics if intrested. i would be willing to drive a bit to drop it off as well

no, i personally have not. but the one guy i rode wiith had 18's. he loved them. but i thought it was dumb b/c even with his -2 swingarm all he did was spin them. he was always the last one to take off cuz he would spin so much. idk what gears or aything he was running, b/c he was chaning something every time we went out...hope that helps somewhat

the only experience i had was i went to look to buy when and the trans was messed up, no third gear or sumthing. and it seemed to be kinda heavy. outside of that i have seen alot of them over the years on the trails, and the ppl i talk to that own them never have to much bad to say.... sounds like a good quad, i was looking at buyin my girl one as well....

I HAVE RUN 20X10X8 FOR YEARS. THEY ARE MY FAVORITE TIRE. AM ACUTALLY LOOKING AT BUYING ANOTHER SET TO REPALCE MY WORN OUT ONES. I AM NOT SO PLEASED WITH THEM IN DEEP MUD, BUT OTHER THAN TAT, I LOVE THEM. I GUESS FOR THE MUD IM COMPLAINING ABOUT I SHOUDL PROLLY HAVE A 4X4 ANYWAYS...BUT CANT AFFORD EVERYTHING..LOL

not that i disagree these guys got treated like shit.......cuz thats just stupid to treat customers like that. but after being up there so many years and knowing so many of the ppl that run that town, they are trying to make all of the campgrounds alil more up scale and family oriented. it basically comes down to money... if you get families to stay, thats more money every weekend as compared to one or 2 guys taking up a site. also they are tryin to get rid of the weekend warriors, because those people make it up 1 or 2 times a year, and when they do they are there to party, and do what they want. which usually leads to issues. the owners would rather have that same cute family come up every weekend and give them a bunch of money and no issues. they kids do all of the activies and the parents are willing to pay more for the kids ot have something to do. plus alot of the familys that get up there lately have these huge trailers and whatnot...not afraid to spend some money. hence why some of the places have limits as to how small of motorhome/ trailer you can have to even enter it all comes down to greed...suppy and demad.. there are rich people willing to spend the money weekenc after weekend....and if the owners want, they choose to cater to these ppl the most, leaving the rest hanging out to dry. its gay...but thats buisness..... my family was a seasonal at yogi for the first 8 years of my life. then for the next 8years we went to sandy shores. which in my opinon, is the best up there. but we got sick of getting 2 sites to park our 3 trucks and trailers. we got lucky enough to buy a place right there in town, which is now a stopping point for all of our freinds all in all the camping up there has been getting worse for years......cuz its all about how to make more moeny...bottom line

its about half way up the west coast. the zip is 49436 if you wanna google it....as to the rain, it was still pretty wet up there the last 2 weekends. it was getting better last week, but most of the "flats" is a "lake".lol i dont know how much rain they got this week though, dint pay attention. i might shoot up sunday if im bored, if so, ill leave an update on here

BUT WE JUST GOT A FEW DAYS ONE EACH ONE, SO I DONT KNOW EVERYTHING. BUT WHAT BRANDON IS SAYING IS THE SAME ROAD I WAS TAUGHT... AS WELL AS THE OTHER INFORMATION THAT WAS TOLD HERE. E10 HAS BEEN RUN FOR YEARS WIHT NO PROBLEMS. AND E85 IS A GREAT THING. I KNOW PPL COMPLAIN BOUT IT IN THEIR EVERYDAY CARS, BUT THATS ONLY B/C TEH CAR IS DESINGED TO RUN BI-FUEL. NO ENGINE CAN BE DESIGNED TO RUN AT PEAK ON SEPERATE FUELS AT ONCE. IF WE DID BUILD A CAR TO RUN ON STRAIGHT ETHANOL, WE COUDL REALLY UP COMREPSSION AS STATED...WHICH MEANS, SMALLER ENGINES WITH THE SAME POWER, B/C THEY ARE MORE EFFICIENT AS WELL AS WE COULD UP COMRESSION. MABYE SOME DAY WE WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE 100% ETHANOL, BUT DOUBTFUL B/C OF ITS POOR STARTING IN THE WINTER. thanks guys. i think i realized where i went wrong. i looked and i have 280 mains with the needle in the center poistion. i remembered that i bought a set of used stock carbs from a freind b/c the threads on the tops of mine we bad, and i pulled the tops off every time i pulled the throttle. thanks for all your input guys. sorry i was dumb and forgot that info.....

i was up there last weekend, adn the flats is all a lake, the beach isn't hardly there, and over by sunset hill there is a bit of a puddle. but its not bad enough to keep me away again this weekend....
