A bud of mine lost his mother on sunday he called me up so we could go do alittle riding late last night, just to help get his mind off of things... The good friend I am I had no 2nd thoughts... WE headed out about 9pm and rode afew hours near the lake by my house.
I was getting one of my "vibes" that I get before something happens that isn't suppose to.. Went riding anyway...
We got afew good hours in and was on our way back, then it happened the shee started making a clicking noise from inside the motor somewhere I shut it down instantly.
It almost sounds like a bolt or something rattling around in there..
Tonight I started the hunt for the noise, I checked the stator side hoping it was a loose bolt no luck... I checked the clutch said no luck there either. Pulled the carbs and checked to see if the reeds were still intact all good there. I now have the head removed and if I turn the motor over I can barely here a click... Tomorrow I gotta pull the cylinders .. I am thinking it might be a rod now... If not that ??? Guess I'll be looking else where.. Maybe Have to split the case and check the tranny..
Shee was still running fine and dandy no power lost what so every, just a damn clicky clicky noise..
One of these days I'll learn to listen to these damn "vibes" I get, atleast it happened near home and not off at the dunes or someother riding excursion...
I feel like I am the one who just lost a "loved one".
