I need a set of cylinders or just the left one would like standard bore and no porting.

I had the same problem back few months ago checked everything ended up tearing it down the dogs on the end of second gear were worn and letting it slip and making the noise. Mine would only do it in second. good luck

I have 97 yz 250 ported pro taper bars frame guards skid plate pro circuit pipe. Adult owned and ridden I have yet to find a 450 honda or Yamha that can hold a candle to it in the woods. This bike has the low end and the top end I have owned 500cr's and yamha 490's and kx 500's and honda 600xr's and have yet to find a bike that handles like this. it is light and thin and has the suspesion for the woods. :happy: Tim

I have had the same problem. had to change the shifter shaft with the fork on the end and the drum and some gears that were worn. Tim

Thanks for the info I will not get to work on it until the weekend I will post my findings. I all ready checked the chain and sprockets they are ok and fairly new. I just put that in my post because I had seen that before from my son on his bike and the sound was the same. Tim

We went riding Saturday when I would shift into second there was a snapping sound it almost sound like a counter shaft sprocket with the teeth stripped off and the chain slips around it. If I would go head and shift to third the sound stopped.Is second gear a problem I only have lite mods pipe 2 into 1 lectron carb lightened fly wheel and milled head.I hate to tear this thing apart it is running so good. Yes what First Banshee said .When a bike is hard to start cold but starts fine after that the pilot jet is clogged or to small.What happens the fuel charge in the bottom end evaporates there for you don't have the fuel to start.Remember the motor runs on the pilot jet up to quarter throttle.

Just send it to boonman it not worth the hassle to do your self he has the setup and does great work and fast turn around at a bargin price for what he charges i will not do mine and I have access to the proper tools. This one of the best mod's going

Is he talking about (Ohio maybe) they are going to start charging 5 bucks a day or you can buy a yearly permit for 25 I think. That would be good for any park in the state.Just another tax they will waste on something useless.

He was giving 2 strokes hell talking about them breaking down and having to rebuild them all the time.I told him i check mine once a year and usally only need to put rings in it.I was under the impression the new four strokes need to be rebuilt pretty often also because the piston has no skirt or very little.He told me his bike had an H.R.C. kit from Honda cam jets air filter and reworked stock pipe,never heard of this but any way who ever got the holeshot would lead for about 600 to 800 feet then I would start pulling away from him.I don't get caught up in this shit to often but he just would not shut up and leave me alone. 92 shee,milled head,Lightened flywheel,single Lectron and fatties and one big fat ass on it

I have a single 40mm on mine.The needle size is what makes it work change the needle is like changing the main jet and pilot jet on other carbs and if it has power jet setup you can change it also.I will not buy any other carbs.

a Lectron carb is by far the simplest carb to jet turn the needle up to make it richer or down to make it leaner.The needle only goes in one way it has a flat machined on one side you may have the wrong needle there are numbers ecthed on the flat side of the needle also if it's lean on the top end you may need to put in a bigger power jet.After each change set the idle with the screw on the side go to Fast by Gast web site all the information you need to jet a lectron is there or give them a call they have always been willing to help me.

This what i do for a living as Boonman said there are many types welding jobs and certifications. That is what set's the pay scale. Cininnati Oh.area shop welders up to 15.00$ doing mig welding a little more if you can stick and tig weld.Construction welders up to 25.00$ hr. with certifications that is working outside in the weather with low benefits.But it is a good trade in the long run in this area we can not find quality welders there are alot of people that think they can pick up a mig machine and call them self welders.But it take many years of experence to be a good welder in all phases of the craft.It can be hard work some days also hot dirty and you will get burn't many times also some people have eye problems but after 24 years i still have near perfect eye sight. Bottom line a welding class does not make a welder it take many years on the job in all phases welding to make a welder. Just my 2 cents

Got my new pipes on but have not had a chance to try them the weather has sucked here for the past two weeks.

Yes it sucks December23 four inches of ice the electric went out for three days.Then the temp.dropped to below zero for two days then it warmed up to 50 and rained for three days now the dam river is at flood stage and still going up by Monday my basement will be flooded.Living in the Ohio valley is great.
