  1. I will take it for $200 + shipping. PM an address and I will send you a cashiers check. Also let me know what shipping will be to 92111. Thanks, Derek
  2. Can I adjust this shock myself or do I need to have it revalved? I am right in San Diego and very interested. Why are you getting rid of it? Is it setup for a stock swingarm?
  3. Yeah those are the only maiers I have owned also, put them on an 86 200sx. I was just hoping that quality has improved over time. Derek
  4. I am going to be buying new orange front and rear fenders. My choices are either Fullbore race nose and rears for about $500 or Maier race front and rear fenders for about $210. I would actually like to get the maiers because of the price difference and the classic banshee looks, but I don't want an inferior set of fenders. I know that older maier fenders (the ones with the dull finish) used to sag and were not a quality product. Has Maier improved their quality with the new glossy fenders. I would like to hear from some people that have these fenders and know how they compare to stock quality. Thank You, Derek
  5. I have a quick question in regards to this issue. My brother rolled my banshee in glamis and seems to have bent the frame in this same area. I am going to bend it back but need a piece of information first. How much space should there be between the frame and the front of the gas tank? If anyone has a picture of this area that would be great to. Thanks, Derek
  6. I would recommend Duncan Racing in Santee. He is a bit pricey, but does work that is second to none. Derek
  7. Do you still have this stuff? More specifically I am interested in the waterpump cover and brake line clamps.
  8. Just looking for any opinions on this tank. I am considering purchasing one but would like to get some feedback first. So if anyone has had any experiences with them please let me know what you think. Thanks, Derek
  9. As the title states I am looking for both a black radiator cover and tank cover. Let me know what you have. Thanks, Derek
  10. What kind of shape are the sand skates in? Will you ship them? Do you have a pic, if so email it to me at sandaddict@earthlink.net. Thanks, Derek
  11. What is the cheapest place to get the limited edition radiator and tank covers. Does anyone carry them besides dealers. Probably not, but I figured I would check before I gave the dealership my $$$$. Thanks, Derek
  12. Thanks guys I will buy a 2003 radiator cover, probably limited edition.
  13. Just as the topic says, I am looking to buy a stock silver radiator cover, but need to know what year I should look for. Thanks, Derek
  14. Hey guys I am looking for a stock blaster carb, with good threads for the cap to screw onto. My carb top is stripped out and the cap will not tighten down. Let me know if you have one. Thanks, Derek
  15. Is there anywhere to get them other than the dealer that would be considerably cheaper?
  16. I am looking at getting Alba's Pro-Comp suspension kit with +2/+1 A-arms, dual rate works shocks, chromoly tie rods, and stainless brake lines. What does everyone think of this kit? I will be using it exclusively in Glamis. Alba Pro Comp Kit Thanks, Derek
  17. My current carb slides are pretty worn as they are the stock units that came on my 92 banshee. They are no longer black and have quite a few scratches in them. I went and bought new ones from Yamaha today for $81 each!!! Now my question is whether or not there is a way to rejuvenate my old slides or whether there is an alternative to buying these slides from Yamaha. Is there something special about these slides, I mean $81 is a bit ridiculous. One more question do you guys have any tips on sealing the motion pro carb tops for use in the sand? I noticed some sand getting in and cauising the throttle to stick. Thanks, Derek
  18. okay, I was hoping that the intake leak was the culprit. Just didn't know if it would cause the bog from about 0-1/2 throttle. The problem got gradually worse until it was missing like crazy. Hopefully the new intakes solve it. Derek
  19. Here is the crack that was in both intakes
  20. I pulled my reeds out while replacing my cracked intake manifolds, and noticed the gap between the two petals. Is this gap acceptable? I was having a problem with bogging during acceleration, and am wondering if this is the cause. Both reed cages had this gap on one side of the cage I also noticed cracks in both of my intake manifolds at the equalizer tube, it does not appear that the cracks went all the way through the manifold. What would my engine have done with cracks in the intake manifolds? I have already ordered new UPP manifolds. I am just trying to figure out if this was my problem or not. Please look at the photos below. Thanks, Derek
  21. I probably will split the cases just to be safe. I have only ridden the shee for 4 weekends since I replaced the crank and all of the seals on the lower end. I think I should be able to reuse the seals as they are in no way worn out. Thank you for all of the advice I will let you know how things go. Derek
  22. I think it is 290, but I will have to check
  23. Hey Paul- Yeah Scott got out around 8pm, they were trying to mess with him because they told us we couldn't get him until 8pm, but he could've really gotten out at around 2pm. Still hadn't got his bike back. Anyways, I think I am going to take the degree key out, and try to run it on pump gas. I am also going to check my compression after the rebuild, before I run pump gas in it. What ratio do you think I should run? I used to run yamalube 2r at a 32:1 ratio with no problems, and after my rebuild started running maxima k2 at the 36:1 ratio to be on the safe side. What type of grease are you suggesting I use, how would I force it into the lower end, and how would I clean it out. I was thinking of filling it with gas and then turning the motor over a bunch of times to free the debris from the bearings, then draining it and repeating the process a few more times, would this work? I will also purchase a few sets of jets, start out rich and work my way down until I find the magic number. If you can think of anything else let me know. Thanks, Derek
  24. Well I was out at glamis this weekend, and within about 45 minutes my weekend of riding came to an end. After pulling the plugs I found the left one was covered in aluminum glitter, meaning I had detonation. After pulling the head I found a hole in the top of the left piston, and an indent in the top of the right piston(the beginnings of another hole). I have been running 91 octane at a 36:1 with maxima k2. I have vitos superstock pistons, vitos head gasket, stock head, and a +4 degree key. Should I need to be running a higher octane, and if so what? I am pretty sure this is the cause of the problem, I am just wondering why it happened all of a sudden. I am also pretty sure that the vitos superstock pistons did not cause this and would like to use them again if possible, is there any reason that I shouldn't? My next question is how to properly repair the engine. I just put a new crank in and don't want to risk ruining it, by having pison debris get into the bearing. How can I properly flush the lower end to ensure that I get all of the debris out of it? What else should I do during reassembly to ensure that there will be no ill effects from this meltdown? Thank you and any advice is greatly appreciated. Sorry for all the questions. Derek
