I love banshees as much as anyone here, but comments like this make me fall out of my chair laughing! A 4-stroke is not a cure all for shity riders and people that dont know how to tune. I have my LTR and i tune it and race it just as much as my banshee. In fact i am willing to say i hold my own against banshees. I'll line up with you any day siksykorx7! And my thumper will walk all over you.

+1 Dont be shocked, i got a LTR450 and it competes with almost anything. They are deceptively fast, without the powerband its a different feel. I definitely hold my own when I am out at the dunes lining up with other quads. ONE

Should i trade my bike for a Shee
onebanshee replied to jerod187's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I by no means condone drinking and riding, but just because you pack some beers when you go riding does not make you irresponsible. When I go riding its to get away from the everyday grind of working 5-days a week. So YES i usually pack some beers when I ride, and I LOVE IT. When we go to the dunes we bring cases of beer, and pack them every ride we go on. What i am trying to say, Its not alcohol/drugs that make people dumb, its the person behind the bars. I have seen just as many sober idiots as drunk ones, so get off your horse and quit trying to rule people lives with your own ideals. I live my life how I want, I could care less what other people think of how I live my life. love ONE -
Sounds like you have made up your mind but, I got a LTR450 and i must say, it fuckin rips. If you are worried about narrow quads, you really should go sit on a LTR, super comfy, good stock shocks, awesome power, easy and cheap to mod, you really need to check them out before you make up your mind. lata

Its my dads birthday on Sat. I have no clue what to get him. He is the type of person that when he sees something he wants, he doesnt wait, he buys it right then. He just bought a new 4x4 for the ranch, its a kawi 360cc, (no idea the name of the quad) and he all ready bought a winch, plow, and trailer for it. I was thinking it would be cool to get him something for the new quad but I have no idea. any ideas on something cool for 4x4? or anyother thoughts on what to get someone that has everything? thanks One

Nice, I just traded my banshee in on a 4-stroke about 4-5 months ago, (ltr450) super fun to rally the dunes, but your right, they dont have the arm ripping power if the powerband. But i am still happy with my "up-grade" one

If i were to recommend a four stroke i would say the Zuk LTR450. I just got one and its pretty sick. Rides awesome, sick power, and flies through air like it has wings. Its not the best for trail riding, the ground clearance and how wide it is kinda sucks if your in tight places. But for a 4stroke they are badass and RIP!!!! Stay away from Kawi, they are really week, I have killed a couple on my LTR. Even some with a full exhaust, my LTR only has the baffle out, K&N, and Cherry bomb, and it still worked a lot of kawi and honda's, (in the dunes) I have heard the Kawi is good in the trails, because it has reverse. imo ONE -
That is bullshit. You should NOT have to check it. I know when I was looking at quads some shops actually charged for assembly. Which I thought was bullshit, if they charged you for assembly then you should demand your money back for that. I never even thought about checking anything on my quad when I bought, for $7,000 they better have done everything perfect. Thats like going to a restaurant and paying full price for something that has yet to be cooked.

In high school some of my buddies had some quads so I decided that I would look for one as well. Needless to say in highschool I was lazy and did not work so I had limited funds so I was looking for a "project" bike that i could rebuild. I figured I could rebuild one for cheap since I could do most of the work my self. Well finally after I graduated and moved out for college a buddy of mine called and told me about a another friend of ours who had a banshee that was in pieces and he wanted to get rid of it. So I called my buddy who had the banshee and I asked how much he wanted for it, he was told me whatever i offer. So for $100 i picked it up. It was in a milion pieces and the motor was blown, so i had the engine rebuilt and did the rest of the work my-self. I ended up putting about 1,000 into it and rode it for a year and then decided to sell it for a BRAND NEW LTR450, the Sickest quad ever. JK, eventually I HAVE TO own another banshee. Especially if i can find another steal like the first one!!!!

I would look to trade. You could prolly trade someone a better 400ex then your banshee is now. 400's are on the out so you should be able to pic one up really cheap. What you need to do is get a LTR450, then you would have something to compete. Lata ONE

My first bansee/first quad r1 yamaha
onebanshee replied to r1000banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
where you at in Utah, we should do some riding -
I use to own a Banshee but made the switch to the LTR last year and I gotta say it was a good move. They are fast out of the box, easy mods to do, cheap power, and a lot easier to ride in the dunes, you have power whenever you need. Plus they rip on the track, no banshee could keep up with the LTR on a track. In a straight line a banshee really has a big advantage, but I would chose a LTR over the banshee anyday! lata one

why are 4 strokes more reliable
onebanshee replied to the doug1789's topic in General Banshee Discussion
"4 strokes dont NOT rev as high as 2 strokes. period. there is no differance in new or old. its still the same principals.when i raced our 4 stroks turned between 4-5k rpms. our 2 strokes any where from 9-10k or 13-14k depending on which track we where riding on" .....Bansh-eman B*LLLLLSH*TTTTT dude, I know for 100% that my bros YFZ turns at 12,500, my LTR turns a little less with the stock rev limiter. Where you racing big block v-8's... those are about the only engine that you can turn 4-5k rpms and still call it racing. If you were racing your quad at 4-5k rpm YOU probably lost everyrace. I am NOT saying that four strokes rev our higher or faster, I am simply saying with the current trends, eventually 4 strokes will be just as fast, cc's VS cc's. lata one -
why are 4 strokes more reliable
onebanshee replied to the doug1789's topic in General Banshee Discussion
This is a little redundent but, I agree with whats been said so far. newer four strokes rev just as high as most 2 strokes and just as fast. Hell, my buddy just got GSX that revs out at 16,000rpm, and it will make power all the way up. THE MAIN REASON Technology - With how the world is trying to go green no one is putting the R&D into 2 strokes because they produce a lot more harmful fumes compared to fourstrokes. If companies put as much R&d into 2-strokes as they did fourstrokes then they would be just as reliable. 2 strokes are old technology just my thought one -
It is stock carrier and square tubing, I bought it from a company out of Oregon called affordable performance. I will get pics up right away. one

I just bought a new quad, and I'm sorry to say, its not a yamaha nor is it a two stroke. But i am stoked to see what it can it do in the dunes. I finally bought the new suzuki quadracer 450, anybody else have one of these, any good advise to help it hual ass, or anything to watch for, any advise is appreciated. No worries though guys, I all ready have my eyes on an old banshee to get and start the modding process again, the best part.

I had the same thing happen to my quad a lot, sometimes the spark plug would go flying out, it would scare the shit out of me, it kinda sounded like blowin the engine, but then i would look down and see the spark plug hanging by the wire. WTF? anybody?
