It really shouldn't change performance or jetting at all, the power is defined by the expansion chamber (belly of the beast) and the silencer really just muffles the sound a little, and by shortening, will open the sound up.

Forgot to say, there is not one single dent on these things and they have a great low punch and an awesome mid range with a good top end to boot. You can run with the boys in the woods and then hit the dunes and stay with anyone. Here's a pic with them on.

Sup fellas. I'm putting my Fatties up for sale due to the ridiculously beat PT Mids I'm running. I need some dough for some porting and the ceramic job I'm gonna do on the PTs. So, some lucky f*cker will be getting my Fatties. Here's the deal. Great condition, they are a year old so they do have some of the typical little rustsposts, mostly right around where the pipe meets the cylinder. In the attached picture, I didn't even bother to clean them up. I pulled them off the bike last night to put on the PTs and set them there. This morning, decided to put them on here and snapped a pic where they lay. I need $275 shipped for them. Price is firm so don't f*ck with me. Scott

Cut about 4 to 6 inches off of the silencer then put it back together. It will be louder for sure, but still sound good. That's like the "shorty" silencer fmf markets for bikes, but they don't make them for quads.

I'll be leaving in an hour or so to test her out. Like I said, it'll have to impress me, but from what everybody seems to think it will. I've never been on a thumper so it might take me a few laps to get used to it. I've already got a long travel setup priced out, a 13:1 piston setup, a new air intake setup and possibly some cams, dunno tho. So, if it does go down, I'll still have some things to work on. I wish I went long travel on the banshee, but I've heard the yfz is just unreal with a good long travel setup. He wants my banshee for a 4-sec dragger.

thanks for the opinions, though I knew what you'd all say to begin with. Nonetheless, I'm having some second thoughts as I've had more time to think. There's nothing I don't like about my banshee, and I'm not sure that I really need the change. I may go ride it and see, then make my decision, but I dunno. I plan on hitting the XC series really hard next year and thought it might be a good move, but I like being one of only two banshees out there, and I feel I can hang with anyone there, hell, my bud is the other banshee and he's second or third in points.

you'll be losing some top due to the pipes. if you go to some fatties you'll gain low end, midrange, and top end. with gnarlies, your top end will be about the same with more low end and mid
