  2. The 1 million dollar question. I feel foam stops more stuff, and that K&N could possibly let small small stuff through if not oiled properly. But overall, I think they're both good, I'd use the foam in a more wet and dirty application and the K&N in more dry sandy applications. Anything will leak mounted to the stock airbox setup, you HAVE TO HAVE a Pro Flow plate to properly seal. Get one on ebay. For more info, search, there's loads of this shiz out there.
  3. yep!
  4. Get some fuel stabilizer and put it in your tank. Double the mixture they recommend. Then turn the fuel off and ride it till it runs out of fuel. Your carbs are pretty much empty and the stabilizer on the internal stuff will keep it from getting nasty. After you do that, drain the tank, and maybe even rinse with straight gast and that's really it. When winter's over, put new fuel in, change the case oil, and maybe the rad fluid for the hell of it and your pretty much ready to go. Get some stabilizer and use it no matter what, will make your life much easier later on.
  5. Did you say you had a question about a needle dick??? We can't help you with that.... Oh, needle jet... i get it. Yea, it'll move around in the slide a little when the slides out. When you put the slide back in the carb, it will drop into the little hole that leads to the main and keep it in position. No worries.
  6. What compression are you running? I'm not that high, I run 155 psi or so with +7 timing. If you can deal with 104, then get the GT Plus unleaded. It's 104 with 4.5% oxy. Like liquid crack. Like I mentioned before, I pay $30 for a 5 gallon metal container filled. Here's a link...... Sunoco Race Fuels
  7. You got more than I got. I'd love to have that kind of support. It might not be a factory ride, but it's a definite push in helping you better your machine to be competitive. Now, just don't screw it up and maybe it will take you further. If you break your neck trying a backflip, chances are, they'll drop you....
  8. Yo! Maxxis Sur Trak is exactly what you need. Get it in a 22" height for added clearance and you'll be set. $42 a pop at Rocky Mountain.
  9. I dropped off the cover today for the same treatment as the swinger. They will both be pimped with a powder chrome, followed by a clear coat. They should be done tomorrow, Fri. at the latest. I'll get you all pics when I get them back. Later, and thanks for the help.
  10. The love is in the air....
  11. Me too. I hope to dyno my machine (PT mids) pretty soon. I sold my fatties so can't compare on a dyno sheet, but at least i can show you what those look like.
  12. If your gonna spend the dough, might as well get some good out of it. Go with oxygenated fuel. I get 5 gallon metal containers filled with Sunoco 104 for $6 a gallon. Best shit in the world. The power increase is noticeable when using fuel with oxygen and fuel without. I'm sure you can find oxygenated, just look around. Depending on your compression, 104 might be tight. With 19s it should be fine, but probably not for 18s. Later, and good luck.
  13. If they're in really good shape, $150 is a steal. If they're in decent shape, then it's still a good deal. I sold my 1.5 year old set of Fatties in near perfect shape, a tad bit of discoloring (not bluing, just chrome dulling) at the cylinder port area, but otherwise great shape for.... I thnk $250, can't remember. If I was to buy another set, I'd pay that in a minute for a good set.
  14. I forgot to add, it's already been bead blasted and I've sanded 1/2 of it with 240 already, tho it probably still needs a little more. No black paint whatsoever. I'm gonna stop by my chromer and see what he has to say about it.
  15. Alright, I just tried sanding on my clutch cover and then tried polishing a little piece. I understand that patience is needed for this and just realized that I don't have it. I need someone to volunteer to polish my cover for me, I'll pay. We may need to negotiate, i won't let you rob me, but I will pay. Come on, bring on the peeps. Scott
  16. $200 for the T5s. Pleeeaaasssseeee!!!!
  17. Alright, I went the middle ground. My PC'er has a really nice powder chrome that I went with, along with a nice heavy clear coat. That should be the best of both, in my opinion. I'm gonna throw some pics up of my -1 swinger. It has some cool detail on it. Later, and thanks for the opinions....
  18. I went into a pawn shop for some tools and I've been wanting a plinker gun to shoot skunks that find their way to my porch or cans, or just plink with and something to teach my wife to shoot pistols with. The pawn shop had a nice Ruger Mark II 22LR for sale in there pretty cheap so I picked it up. It doesn't look like it's had 4 clips through it. I haven't shot it yet, I was gonna break it down and clean it to make sure it's all par, but I like this little pistol. I gave $75 for it. This is not a pic of mine, it's a similar one, i have factory grips and my barrel is at least an inch longer.
  19. I'm gonna stop by the PC'ers today and look at some of his color boards and see if I can find something that'll look good. I'm paranoid that hittting bumps, stumps and whatever, that the chrome will start flaking really bad like Loco and Blue said. Thanks, I'll let you know. The swinger should be ready today, so hopefully I can get some paint or whatever on it and get it on.
  20. Try Carb Cleaner. That stuff is usually pretty good on.... carbs.....
  21. $200 each. That's insane, and it does little to explain exactly what it does. It gives some short vague explanation as to the principle, but I'm with him..... I call BS. I wouldn't even pay $50 for it.
  22. sredish

    Need

they're called Retarded Pipes. I wouldn't run those POS's for nuthin......
  23. 20s or 22s will work fine. the 22s will gear you up a little, but it'll work out alright. don't go any bigger, too hard on the bearings and all the little things....
  24. dEcon, rod, black is just not going to cut it. i appreciate your input guys. i have a funny feeling that it'll end up chrome.... that's what i want. It's either chrome, or the blue (same as the frame) or a silver of some sort. But chrome is what i really want and that's what I think i just might end up with, unless someone really has some negative advice on it for the swinger and taking on tough conditions. thanks for all the input fellas.
