A month or so ago, my shee was running great, no problems, been that way for a year. Well, all of a sudden, the top end dropped out. WTF? Thought maybe I had an air leak on the intake or something. Did a plug check, white as snow. I was running a 185, and have for 4 months, perfectly. Well, maybe something's different. I threw in a 190, and still bone white. Screw it, threw in a 200. Still pretty white, but a little color.
I couldn't figure what the hell happened. I didn't just jet, i troubleshooted quite a bit, with nothing found. I talked to my "bud", a fellow banshee man and racer, who also is the one who led me to the Iridium plugs. I asked him about it, since this all started happening about the time I changed to the plugs. He said, "hey, you need to jet for those plugs". What? Well, I know the iridiums burn much hotter, but evidently 400% hotter. They burn so hot, that they warrant a serious look at the jetting when used. Afterwards I jetted for them, and I went from a 185 to 220, and up on the pilots a few points. Now it runs really great and dialed in perfectly. This may not be weird to some of you, but I've never really heard of jetting specifically due to a set of plugs, but that's the scenario with the Iridium plugs.
The reason I'm telling you this, is because I've mentioned these plugs to a few people in a few threads, and I don't know how many people have seen that. However, I don't want people to go run and buy these, go race the next day and blow their piston into 100 pieces. I was lean as hell, luckily I hadn't done much riding, and it was all slow poke riding around my house. Some of you may already know this, and I apologize for being stupid if that's the case.
Later fellas,
Scott
