  1. and in some cases you go up in the needle, you can back the main off a size or two and that will help with the smoothnes of the transitions between the jets. Here's a little diagram to help:
  2. Try a 200 and see where your at. For pilot, try a 52. For your elevation, your main might end up around 190 or so. These are rich estimates, so don't be surprised to pull our the 52 and go with a 50, but rich is better than lean.
  3. The B8EV would probably be alright. The difference in the standard B8ES, which is what Yamaha recommends for the machine, and the B8EV, is the the electrode is a gold mixed metal. It has gold and some other metal for hardening and the tip is a wire type tip which should give a little stronger spark. I'm not sure about the gold, though. If your looking for a simple plug with better spark go with B8EVX (platinum electrode) or the BR8EIX (iridium electrode). The iridium is really strong and may require a slight jetting change. The iridium would be the ultimate but the platinum would probably be the easiest for you. Remember, the BR8ES/B8ES is the standard plug for the banshee and the cheapest.
  4. wish my frame looked like that.
  5. Yep, I've got the sirius and have had for at least 6 months. I love it. I used to be the guy that changes cds every song. i have the remote for my stereo, so i'd flip songs faster than anyone. wife said it was really annoying. I also listened to certain afternoon talk shows. Since I've had sirius, i haven't hardly put in a cd and don't remember the last time i've listened to local radios. it's awesome. the sirius music channels have really good sound and the talk is kinda digital sounding sometimes. i wouldn't trade it for the world. i just bought a new pickup a month back and was freaking cause it took me a week to get it put back in. xm and sirius are probably one in the same, however, i use kenwood receivers and thats who sirius is through. the variety of music is a little better on sirius, but xm has a playboy channel, that's almost worth the xm alone. Here's my reciever:
  6. i tried the disc recovery and fixed one file. it still won't start claiming a different file is now corrupt. I couldn't seem to get that one fixed. I may just reinstall the danm os here today. I have Norton Internet Security and Antivirus on the laptop and the desktop its networked through. Seems to work pretty good, but we do get the messages that a virus has been blocked though. I also have direcway internet.
  7. here's ya a few posts to look at. Little Sahara
  8. Sounds like with all the connecting and disconnecting, you may have not got some wires tight. First place i'd check is the tether and the connections around that. sounds to me like you have something loose. Just a thought, Good luck.
  9. Turned on my laptop this morning, checked email, checked BHQ, did a couple things and left, like I always do. Come back around lunch to check a few things out. The screen is black, nothing there. Ok hit the restart button and wait for it to load. Meanwhile, I jump on this computer (the desktop in the house) and do the things I was wanting to do. I check back at the laptop. Well, it won't boot up. After trying to boot for about twenty minutes, it states blah blablah file is corrupt, needs to be repaired or reinstalled. How am I going to reinstall the file if I can't boot up. Well, I pull out the xp disc and boot up in the repair mode. this file has two copies on the hard drive. i go in with dos and copy one over to the file it said was corrupted and overwrite. Sweet, now we're cooking. Restart. Damn, now another file is corrupted, don't know how to fix that one. Guess I'm going to have to just reinstall the os. What you guys think? I guess maybe a virus attacked. The laptop is networked to the host desktop and both computers have more damn security than George Bush, don't know how it would have come through, especially through the host's security then mine. Don't know what the f happened, I just need my computer for work. ASAP. Later.
  10. If you paypal'd him then just bounce it from his acct.... You have protection by going through paypal..... You will have your 50.00 back and it will be yanked right from his acct. HE then has to fight w/ YOU to either get the $ back or ship the items. Check w/ paypal's site... I know its there somewhere Paypal is usually really good about the protection thing.
  11. thanks ducman, you make it sound as if i'm not crazy.
  12. Anyone have one of the front brake levers with the adjusting screw? I'd like to have one. Holler if you do. Scott
  13. Now this is my kind of post. I'll take both. Some guys like steel nerfs so they can bend and weld when broke, others like aluminum so they don't rust. Some like the kick up in the back for protection, some don't. See what style you like best and go with it. To each is his own. Good luck.
  14. soo???? what happened, that's it? you just backed out? i think we've all been there. I doubt any of you remember, but around the end of last year, maybe early dec., i posted my banshee for sale, here, and all the other quad forums and on ebay. thank god the right persond did NOT come along. what the hell was I thinking? i also had my paddles up for sale. DirtGrrl called me up and wanted to buy. I said okay, then later called her back up and said, ummm, about the paddles, maybe a bad idea. that's when I realized i was furking up.
  15. Very very nice. Boy, that sounds like that could be a lot of fun.
  16. BR8ES
  17. that's awesome. been needing some humor like that. i'm in for a euro and a swift kick just for the "Hey Gilbert boy >>Fick dich Affenschwanz Arschgesicht" bullshit.
  18. I agree that is a good price. Great article Holyman, don't remember seeing that. I'm sure that took awhile to put together.
  19. sorry, just realized i was posting rather quickly and didn't pay full attention. i was merely posting to this: if you decide to do this: you'll need more than the single 35. if you stay with the stock porting and high compression head, the 35 is more than plenty. You can run the single with mild porting even, just don't go overboard. Get into the stroking and all, you'll need to step on up. Best thing to do is decide your long term goal so your not buying a carb and then rebuying another when you add on. set out on a long term plan and work towards it little by little, you'll find yourself getting there faster that way.
  20. that's kind of a play on words. you probably mean you like the power of a 2 stroke with the low end of a 4 stroke. If that's the case a sprocket isn't really going to help you, just make you shift a little quicker. The sprocket idea is kind of a band aid for not having the low end power. If you want the low end power of a 4 stroke, run a dynoport 2 into 1 pipe, or some FMF Gnarlies, along with a single carb kit, and you'll be grunting like a 4 stroke and smoking their asses. What kind of pipes are you running currently, stock or aftmkt? What other mods do you have?
  21. 7 bucks in the states.
  22. i don't ever go out and run it without making sure the oil and gas are well mixed. True, when it's cold, and I start her up, she's got some oil settling in the bottom. But, first off, I don't ride when it's below 55 or 60, so it's plenty warm for the oil to be mixed, and I always make sure the fuels mixed before I start it and then I warm it up real good and take a short little ride. By then if it's not mixed, it's not going to be. not too mention if there's so much oil in the bottom that would cause the gas in top to be straight, that's a lot of oil. If there's that much oil in the bottom, that would take a while to get to the lean part don't you think, along with a few fouled plugs?
  23. no, i wasn't on the lean side before. i'm very particular with the way my bikes jetted. i like it nice and dark and towards the rich side of the line. that is exactly how it was before. in fact, when i found out the problem was focusing on the iridium plugs, i threw an old set of the b8es in, and (keep in mind I already changed the main twice) it was running really rich.
  24. if he won't give you a phone number, he's trying to scam you. scammers will try hard to pressure you. wire the funds asap, hurry up, has to be done by.... These are typical scam phrases. If he is trying to get you to hurry and wire, nope, no way is he legit. Don't arbitrarily wire money to someone you don't know on the other end. Ask for a phone number, if he won't give it to you, say no deal. He'll either give you the phone number, or he'll give you an excuse and demand you wire the money. Very fishy. I hate to hear that. Excitement can get the best of you.
  25. A "silencer" is just that; something pretty free flowing, or even straight thru with fiberglass to soak up some of the loudness, but flow as free as possible. A "spark arrestor" generally is a little more involved. It will have usually have a wire mesh towards the end and can be more of a canister internally where the exhaust will flow through different sections to catch the sparks, and quiet the sound. They can be very elaborate, or very simple and fairly free flowing. Usually the US Forest Svc and some parks will require the use of a spark arrestor. Depending on where you ride will depend on whether you need one or not. I don't run one and I'll wait until I'm told I need one before I use one.
