  1. Then don't be marrying any fat chicks...
  2. how many kicks before it starts up? does it require choke to cold start and/or hot start? reason i'm asking, you might richen your pilot one size, then you'll have more adjustment at the air screw and it'll probably idle better. just my thoughts.
  3. sounds like choke tube or air leaks, or the slides aren't fully closed. I'd pull the air filter and look at the slides to ensure they're down and synced, then move on to choke tube to be fully sure it's installed correctly then if your still having problems, maybe it's an air leak in the boots or inake tract.
  4. you'd probably go up to anywhere from 280 to 310 and 4th clip on the needle, depending on altitude, airbox setup, and some other variances.
  5. Yea, I'd say an experimentation with the needle is in order. Try a dynojet, or call www.carbparts.com and discuss with them and they'll set you up with maybe a couple to give your ride what it needs. Also, as JJ said, airflow is important. Get a k&n pro flow if you don't already have one or the Toomey 2:1 filter kit for the best flow setup.
  6. For those type of mods, rejetting isn't necessarily required, but it "could potentially" cause it to run a little hotter and maybe want a little more fuel. This is why, after any mod, it's necessary to run a WOT plug test to verify whether it will be needed or not. In most cases, just moving one size is all that is needed, if anything is needed at all. Doing them all at once, I'd probably suggest going up one size and then checking. Later.
  7. For the most part, I like them. I'd put them back in and get them some run time, get them hot and wet. Ride for a little while and hit your WOT run again just to double check, but it looks like you've gotten her pretty darned close. Only thing I see is in your top picture, looks like the color changes a little towards the center of the electrode, you really want it more towards the middle of the bend, which for your case would require it to be a tad richer. Just giving you exactly what I see, for you to do with what you want. Not bad at all though, I like the overall coloring.
  8. I don't have a good pic of that, but I'll get one in the morning and let you know. For some damn reason, I can't remember exactly what mine looks like. Later.
  9. Hey Holyman, I saw you were selling that thing like two weeks ago. Do you still have that, if so, what are you asking for it? Thanks appreciate it. Yeah, that's some funny shit man, I bet you get that waaayy too much.
  10. ... and he couldn't ask for a better hillclimber
  11. Damn knighty, feelin alright nowadays??? I've been pretty lucky, although, about 2 months ago, I busted 3 ribs, collapsed both lungs and sucked in a lot of sand at LS, Okla. when we (the shee & I) went over a 30' drop and she bounced in the air and I broke it's fall. Lotsa fun.
  12. I run Castor and like it. Only thing, it does tend to seperate pretty easy, especially when the weather turns cold. Be sure to shake the machine a little when it's been sitting.
  13. its always hard to let the loved ones go, but the process is always more fun than the destination. you'll miss ur dodge to, bu hopefully the ford will give you plenty of fun. later. btw, i'm on my phone in bed, parked in a restaraunt parking lot in wichita,ks. where u at led?
  14. Nope nothing will be broken, except maybe a couple u-joints. Led, I've spent more time in Walden that I honestly care to admit. Some of my old stompin grounds. Oh well. I guess I'm gonna check out a little early. Here's a little something to remember me by.
  15. I'm going home, to Steamboat, CO for a week and a half. Leaving around 4pm. We're driving the motorhome and pulling the Jeep on a hauler behind it. We're taking our fly rods, our mountain bikes, and anything else we can fit, I think my golf clubs. Only thing , the shee is staying home for this trip. So, she will be lonely for a week or so. I'll be in and out some today, and around 4pm, I'll be outta here.
  16. In all honesty, the best way to find out what the prob is at WOT is a plug check. If it's bogging, then kill it and look at the plugs to see if they're white or black, that will tell you what to do. It may be that it's lean and not getting the fuel to hit the powerband, or it may be that it's rich and it's coming close to fouling. What other mods do you have and what's your elevation. I suggest you run a WOT plug test at the next opportunity and report back what the plugs look like. Here's a link to BenBB's Jetting FAQ. It will tell you all about running a WOT test and checking the plugs. The main jet your running could be a tad lean, or could be close depending on your elev. and mods. The normal range for a piped single carb intake is around 175 to 180, somewhere in there. Let us know.
  17. A list of mods will definitely help. Normally, 280 with lid on, 300 with lid off at sea level, fattie pipes, and reeds. If you have more mods, that could change one way or the other. Let us know what you got and we'll get it close.
  18. I have stock carbs for sale, still have the TORS tops on. $50 for the pair, with throttle cable.
  19. there's definitely something freaky going on with that right a-arm. see how the left is much more open, more of a v and the left is more of a u, almost like the rear upper mount is moved or something. i'd measure the space between the front and rear mount on both sides and compare.
  20. It sounds like your f'ed then.
  21. damn, i like that. pretty good idea. K&N shit is just way tooo much money.
  22. what about your fuel petcock being clogged. the fuel above holds the clog in but holds the air bubble in the fuel line and not allow it to escape the hose. just an idea, i don't really know if it would work like that, but the air bubble should go on up into the tank and to the top. I'm trying to figure out what's keeping it in the hose.
  23. thanks for the lovely image guys. i hope your wearing something under it.
  24. If I come to Scotland, I'm bringing my golf clubs. Rain or shine baby.
