All of the sudden i have the urge to break something..... i'll throw in one for rock/punk.... A little Korn before a day of riding, and it's all good!!!
-
I got there early Saturday morning, and left late Sunday night(friggen work...) The weather was great. I'm guessing mid to high 60's, and sunny both days. no wind either. Lots a people. It was my first time there, so i can't compare it to anything, but yeah there was a lot. not too many vendors though. Rangers were rather mello...from what i was told. The only thing they were really enforcing(that i saw) was that you had the sticker displayed on the windshield of your vehicle (they gave you a window decal after you paid the 20 dollar entry fee). They even had someone walking around the camp site checkin on vehicles that didnt have 'em. They were also checking (at least Sunday when i left) for 'em on the way out.

Thanks guys. That's what i was thinking too(Valve adjustment), but wanted an EXPERT opinion.. I just don't understand why it would need one so soon. It's an 03 and has less then 5 hrs on it. Hey Toomey Banshee, you happen to remember what the clearances are? Thanks again guys!

I had to get your attention somehow..... I'm havning trouble starting and keeping the engine running on my little Raptor. The bike will turn over, but won't start when using the electric start button. It'll only start by jumping, or bump starting it. (and) After it does start, you have to constantly blip the throttle to keep it from dying (even after being warmed up for 5 minutes). I'm not vary good at trouble shooting problems w/ this bike. Maybe someone can give me a hand. things i've tried already. #1 Charged the battery #2 adjusted the idle #3 kept the choke ON to see if it would idle after warm up

Roostfest, is this someting you guys(the BHQ) started and put on each year or??? (and) is it mostly a "banshee only event?" oh and just for some info...They were giving hand outs this past weekend (Pres day weekend), on the fee program, it stated that they were only charging on Pres day and Easter weekends. They were then gonna gather the data...bla bla bla.... The Rangers seemed pretty mello. I saw a number of guys go screemin by 'em(the rangers) w/ drag pipes on their quads, and they didn't seem to care. The only thing they were cracking down on, were the people speeding threw the camp site areas.

Help Me Make A Trip To Celine Dione Worth The Trip
Otis replied to Holyman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
If your up for drivin around and seeing things, Red Rock Canyon is something to see. There's a 13 mile loop you can drive, w/ rest stops and picnic areas. Hoover dam's kinda cool. I wouldn't pay to take the dam tour, but... If your into motorsports, I'm sure the speedway might have something going on, motorcycle track day, sprint cars races, karts, drags, NASCRAP...uh car..... IF you just wanna walk the strip..check out the fountains at Bellagio, or the new TI show. Both are free shows. If your into "artsy" stuff Check out the high dollar paintings at the Bellagio or The Guggenheim museum in the Venetian. Thrill rides: The New York New York and Sahara hotels have roller coasters. There's a place right next to Circus Circus that has Bungy jumping ...or if you have really big KAHONES..check out the rides at the top of the Stratosphere. oh btw, someone mantioned Steve Abbots place, it's called Quad Central 2 -

I just put a set of Holeshot XCR's on my bike. The only other tire have to compare them to is the stockers, but......... I like 'em. I ride mostly in soft sand. Some hard packed dirt/rock trails, but not much. I bought them because they're 6 ply. Havn't had a blowout/puncture(sp?) yet.

Modified 03 Banshee Vs Modified 04 Yfz 450
Otis replied to q8banshee3883's topic in General Banshee Discussion
A friend of mine said he got "smoked" by a banshee, goin up a hard packed dirt hill. Come to find out, his Definition of smoked is a bike length..... the only mods to his 450 are shaved front fenders and a slip on. I cant remember if he said the banshee was stock, or just piped.... anyway, it doesnt really answer your question, but.......... -
Thanks guys. I know what you mean about that avatar.....[wiping drool from side of mouth]... thanks again.

I just ordered the K&N air filter and adapter plate. From the looks of it, the adapter plate slides in to the notches(bottom of the air box) where the stock one went. Is that right? you guys are getting rid of the air box lid completey? and what about the airbox itself? keep it? toss it? 90% of the riding i do is soft sand/dunes...the other 10....wide open (hard packed) desert.

right on, thanks for the info and the map. I'll prolly go down tomorrow and pick up that green sticker. I live in the NW part of town...(Rainbow and 95)

Thinking Of Getting A Street Bike. Any Input?
Otis replied to BansheeJerry's topic in General Banshee Discussion
i so wanted that bike back then...ended up getting an 87 FZ750 instead. hey now there's an idea for ya BansheeJerry. The Monster 620 would be right up your alley. I'll 2nd that!!!!!! (W/ Aprilia following right behind... ) -
I just went to my garage and checked my (unopened) jug of engine Ice. It looks like someone hocked a loogie in there.....ewwwwww... so yeah i guess there's supposed to be.
-
Not on the banshee, but on a street bike. They're a great shock, but you could send the ones you have now to Race Tech (or whoever) and get /em reworked to your specs, for the same quality as Ohlins, and half the price.

I think it's great that your considering the 250. Most modern day 600's are "race ready" and have way too much hp for an inexperienced rider (not saying your inexperienced). Ive seen too many people go down cause they had that "a 600 is too slow for me" mentality. The EX is a good bike. Are your friends gonna say "holy [censored] dude, sweet bike!"....probably not. Are you gonna impress the chicks w/ it...not likely(well maybe... ) Are you gonna be leading the pack on the track or while carvin the canyons...uh no. but for what you said you wanted to use it for, it's a good bike. If your intrested, here's a link to a great street bike site. Lots of good info on bikes and stuff. http://www.sportbikes.com/wwwthreads/ubbthreads.php?Cat= -
One last thing....(yeah i know.... ) Do the stock silencers have spark arresters in 'em? I'll share...I'm sure she won't mind... Cotton eyed Joe- Are you going to Dumont Pres day weekend?
