    If someone has a partial or a trashed tranny with a good main shaft.Thats all i really need.The shaft that holds the main drive sproket+the idler gear on the other end.

  5. Here's a suggestion.Get a measuring cup with fluid oz increments on the sides of it.Insert the piston dome into the cup+see how much water it displaces.Or press the dome into a ball of puddy,remove it+see how much liquid it will accept.

Dave I have a older late 80's or early 90's 440 Bombardier sled motor complete with the clutch set up.I took it out of a running sled a couple years agow.I needed the starter off it for another project that uses the same motor,so i removed it with the motor attached. Let me know if your interested,i'll prob never use it.

  10. Sandstar,I was at Glamis pres day.Yes my bike ripps+i had the the strongest running bike in our group. I do'nt need to prove shit to anybody,this bs is'nt worth my time.
  11. Ok ,here's my input.I have one of Dan's motors.Dan knows what application will be best for what your looking for! If he recomends decked cubs with less port timeing,Then thats how i'd spend my money. A couple very respected members here,have ridden my bike+will tell ya too.My set up flat out hauls ass!! It has unbelieveable pull throughout the whole rpm scale.

I caught that episode on video,+yes you did save it with the help of some dedicated friends.I was very impressed with your next run up the hill,you carried the front wheels for the last 10 ft feathering the clutch as you crested the summit.I thought that was one of the best scenes of the whole video,that was about 10 min before Banchetta's famous goast ride.

  14. That was Walter (MP370)who had dealings with him.I'm pretty shure he's the one that took over MP racing.He use to try to sell stuff occasionally on here as(dune gooney).

  16. Yamaha built an american RD 400 thats air cooled+came with a 5 speed tranny,not much is interchangeable.
  17. My stoker with 28 Kehin pwk d slides+ t5's at sea level @70deg open air box or clamp ons use's 165 mains,48pilots,jjh needles 1st clip,1 turns out on the air screws.

Assumeing your at sea level at 70deg.That sounds a little to lean on the mains.I have never run those pipes but i think they like a richer pilot.the 25 is ok to start with but you might want to have a 27.5 on hand.Someone with those pipes will hopefully chime in+get you in the ball park.I'm guessing start with 340 mains.
  19. Na don't bother that won't tell you jack.You need to have a load on the motor.Post what you have for pipes,your elevation,temp+,filter set up.I'm sure the people here can suggest a good starting point ,so you can safely dial it in+get you real close to start with.
  20. Yes,the insulation on my stator coils is flakeing off.Thanks for the info.I was looking for a excuse to get a new one anyways.

At first i thought it was vapor locking,but i have clear fuel lines+i can see that their is fuel in the bowls when it happens.It was acting up today,i rode for about 10 min after a good warm up then it did it.But it started right back up that time.Then after about 1 1/2 hours of hard ridding it started doing it again but would'nt start without sitting for a while.When it runs it's in a optimum state of tune+runs perfect.
  22. It only happens after the bike is up to temp.The last couple of times i was on the throttle hard+allmost went over the bars.It runs great no warning then all of a sudden it's just like you hit the kill switch.Then it won't start for nothing untill it cools a little.

In the last year I've gone through 4 coils.Two while running t5's+two now running pt's.I flipped the coil over to the top of the mount+shimmed it away even farther,but they still keep failing,like hitting the kill switch.I assume it overheats+fails.Then it will have to sit for 5 or 10 min before it will start again. I'm wondering if my problem might be voltage regulater related or something else.This is with a dyna fs box but also was an issue with the stock cdi box too. Any input or sugestions to this prob greatly appreciated.
  24. With my set up i have 28pwk's+34pj's.I prefer the smaller ones,they have a much crisper throttle responce.The 34's felt like they made more overall power at the expense of the instantaneous pull of the 28's.
