  1. I need a Banshee frame. I want to build a sand drag bike and would like to start from scratch rather than buying an expensive bike and scrapping everything for new parts. I'd actually take a rolling chassis if anyone has one.
  2. Anyone selling hauler tires with rims (or without rims). I want the 22 inch tires. I'm not going to be picky on the width. A 8 inch rim would do. 9 or 10 paddle. If not...does anyone know a place to buy them at a good price and will ship?
  3. This is my first banshee and it came with FMF fatties. I put the PSI pipes on and they have more all - around power. An article I read a while back said that PSI pipes would be excellent for trail riding. I don't know about MX riding. I'm assuming that trail riding would be low end power...but they pull way harder than FMF fatties which are supposed to be low end pipes. I had my pipes chromed and sprayed the inside with high temp spray so they wouldn't change colors. I called PSI for some porting prices and they claim that their pipe works with ported motors very well.
  4. Anyone ever repack their silencers. I've heard it's easy but I have no idea where to begin or how to do it. Can anyone give some instructions on how to..what tools?
  5. I run PSI pipes. They run way bettter than when I had FMF pipes. They feel like my friends bike who runs T5's. YOu are both right in the fact that not many people use them. I dont know why...magazines talk highly of them and PSI is known for their porting. They recommend their pipe with stock and ported motors.

  8. Hey guys, my banshee is similar to screamin banshee but I'm at sea level and ride in Glamis...pretty hot sometimes. My bike has a stage III duner port and I'm putting my stock carbs back on. What jetting set up would you recommend? duner port, boysen pro series reeds, 4 degree timing, psi pipes, 19cc domes THANKS!!!!!!!!
  9. I have some mild porting and want to put my stock carbs back on because my 34 pj carbs suck. I want to know if anyone has had any experience with aftermarket needle jets like toomey or Vito's. Are they worth it?
  10. I posted the first topic: I'm using PSI pipes. They are decent. I've had fmf and PSI are way better. I'd say they are similar to Toomeys. I rarely see anyone using them. PSI is a snowmobile pipe maker. They are shaped like CPI but skinnier.
  11. I've had this problem for about 6 months but it's never really hurt performance. I thought I'd just see if anyone has had this happen: Oil is spitting out the spark plug holes. the spark plug threads are always wet but the plug tips are fine. Also, oil spits out the right side pipe where it connects to the jugs. The cool head had new gaskets and the pipe has new o rings. It doesn't hurt performance but it makes a big ass mess every time I ride. ANy help ou there?
  12. Does anyone know where you can drag race with quads (on dirt) in Southern California? I keep seeing pictures of bad ass banshees draging in dirt...in other states I assume. That's the only thing keeping me from going all out full drag. It's not worth it to build a $15,000 bike to only use 5 times a year in Glamis.
  13. Yes it is the right side by the clutch cover. Damm...is this serious enough to have to fix right away? What has to be done to fix it? The top end looks o.k. I took the jugs off to do some more porting and the pistons look a little black but are still smooth.
  14. This past glamis trip I noticed that one pipe smokes like hell...and at the end of my trip, that same pipe is full of oil on the silencer and front of pipe near head. Could a piston ring be busted? My plugs look good on both sides. Will a compression test tell if a piston ring is gone?
  15. I hear you both. Gearing is one of my "dummy" areas. I get mixed up with the terms gearing up, down. Since I only weigh 180 lbs., I will try the 12 tooth. Also, my bike rips on the flats but doesn't seem to have torque up hills. Let me see how the bike runs after I do some minor repairs (new clutch, paddles, possible carb change) thanks again
  16. I posted the first question on top...thanks for all the replies. Well, to answer some of your questions: My motor puts out about 60-65 horsepower +4 swingarm sand shark v-paddels (I know they suck for drag...saving money for haulers 10 paddles and +6 swingarm) I have to keep the bike in 4th gear to pull fast up OLds Hill. Again...I ride my bike through the dunes to get to olds...I don't pull it on a trailer! I hope this info helps on someone giving me advice on sprocket teeth!
  17. I have a few mods (stage III porting, 34 pj, pipes, +4 timing, etc..) and I keep reading about sprocket changes. My bike has stock sprockets on both ends. Can anybody give me advice on possible sprocket changes for glamis riding. 50/50 drag/dune. THANKS
