  1. I have a Dynoport 2-1, no lid, K&N w/outerwear, stock carbs, no porting, stock head, reed spacers, FMF reeds. 300 mains stock pilots: 1.25 turns out needle in stock position. I am running just a hair rich at 50-70 degrees F. Dustin
  2. Here is my 03 Black and Blue rebuild. Dustin
  3. All you need is some a-arms, swingarm, shocks, pipe, jetting, filter, steering stem, bars, rims, tires, and other odds and ends to be really competative. But there are people out there on stock 450's that are kicking butt. I would give around 10-12K US for all that, to include the bike. I would get the quad and do it all youself so that you know how everything works and how to fix it. Houser has some good products. Just my $.02. Dustin
  4. Sounds like with the stuff you already have done you are going to be MX'ing. If that is the case I would get suspension. You can go faster on a well suspended stock banshee then a tricked out one with stock suspension. Lose the snorkel and jet it correctly. They are pretty lean from the factory. You will notice a difference with those free mods. Free because if you bought it new you have some larger jets to put in. Get some decent fronts then get the rear sprung and valved your weight and type of riding. That alone will make you have more fun and be faster. Stock suspension on the Banshee is just terrible. Just my $.02 Any questions, just PM me for some more advice. Dustin
  5. Let me do some searching for a carb and I will be in contact. I was just about to do what you just did. Give me a couple of days... If you want to sell it let me know I will buy it. Dustin
  6. I was going to put my .02 of advice on how to fix this but this guy is a brick wall and the jetting he is doing is assinine! The jettting will not make it rev to the moon on idle. Good luck and don't blow her up! One last thing, get rid of the TORS and get the idle kit. All headaches will be cured! Dustin
  7. Fronts are NOT rebuildable at all. The rear on other hand is completely rebuildable. At a good shop you can get the rear redone for around $65-75. I got my rear shock rebuilt to Elka Specs (Dual Rate). That costed me $275 for local shop to do it or if you want Elka to do it, it is $375. Hope this helps. Oh one last place you could check out is Derisi racing. He does a great job and is really friendly. Dustin
  8. I pulled the boots on the ball joints, wiped them off then tapped them off. Sandblasted, primed, and painted. I then put the boots back on with little zip ties. No problems yet. Came out great. Dustin
  9. I run Amsoil Synthetic Series 2000 at 40:1 runs great and I never foul plugs. Dustin
  10. When I ride MX I usually set the front up at 10-12 and the rears at 5-9. I have Holeshot MX fronts and MXR rears. Dustin
  11. I am running a Dyno Port Pipe on 18"s. I am geared 14/41 and it works well unless I hit a big track then I bump up to 15/41. I normally stay in 3rd and some times 4th when i am racing! Hope that helps OC. Dustin
  12. From my limited experience here is what I think. The 2-1 pipe is awesome for anyone that wants some low end grunt. Woods, MX and XC is the place for this pipe. If you dune hill climb or just mess around I would not recommend this pipe. I went from stock to my dyno port and the difference was huge, once I got the jettting dialed in. I can lug my shee down to where I can feel each piston fire and then ease into the throttle and she will spin up every time! No clutching unless you want the tires to spin. As for the top end. It is the same as stock sorta. It feels like it pulls a little more up top but nothing that noticable. The mid hit is huge but extremely smooth. The light switch is gone. So you can get the power to the ground without ripping the tires loose everytime you hit the gas. Basicly I have a 4 stroke that likes to burn some oil but still huals! Now this pipe is hard to jet but once you nail it, it rips. I have done some limited play draggin with some friends and a couple of other banhsees. I have beat banshees with top end pipes in short drags 300-400ft. But once they get those pipes wound out I don't stand a chance. I keep up with modded 400ex, Raptors Z400's. They just seem to put the power to the ground alot better. So to sum this up. If you want to use your shee for some riding that you normally would want a 4 storke for but can't afford or don't want to switch, get this pipe. Dustin
  13. I use the setup from Galfer. It uses one "Y" cablel for the front instead of two cables. Either way should work just as well. I just have less plumbing! Galfer for the rear too. Rockymountainatv.com is the best place to find what you need and the cheepest. Dustin
  14. I have ridden halfmoon and i don't like it. It is setup for dirtbikes. I normally ride at JMP (Jacksonville MX Park) Best track in this area. You also have Hawbranch and MX 58. PM me if you want to hook up some time. Dustin
  15. I don't know about that twist throttle, how easy is it to keep it steady in the rough stuff? Just to let you know I ride MX. Dustin
  16. They are worth the money for sure! Instead of having to grab a hand full of brake lever to lock the front I can now 2 finger the fronts to get them to lock and the rear is really touchy! Dustin
  17. Motul, Does that really help? Dustin
  18. I have been wanting to get the single carb setup but I can never find a descent deal. I still would like to know how to sand the stock springs. Thanks, Dustin
  19. Thanks for all the suggestions. I have recently lubed my cable. So I know that is not it. It has pullled this hard since I bought it over a year ago. How do I go about sanding the springs? Cutting a couple of rounds off doesn't lighten a spring it just shortens it. Dustin
  20. I have felt a lot of other quads that have a lot easier thumb throttles then mine. Is there any way to make it easier without changing my carbs to a single? Dustin
  21. $375 is what Elka charges you if you send it to them, but if you have a good local shop do it, it is alot cheaper. I ended up getting mine done for $235 since I bought my Elka front shocks from the same shop. I haven't rode them yet, I can't wait! This weekend it is on! You can't go wrong with Derisi! He is awesome, and his prices are worth every penny! Dustin
  22. Got them. I am sending them to a buddy. He may be interested. Dustin
  23. Send me pics please. [email protected] Dustin
  24. For the price you are going to pay for a used rear aftermarket shock you can have a reputable shop rebuild your stocker with an Elka rebuild kit. $275. That is what I am having done to mine. It also turns your rear into dual rate! Just my pennies! Dustin
  25. RIMS AND TIRES WERE SOLD TODAY.
