  3. I also think that an empty bowl allows the film of gas left to evaporate which leaves behind the oil to dry and get gummy. A full bowl will have less chance to evaporate. Same as when you store a car or a boat, store it with a full tank of fuel. Less evaporation and less condensation in the tank. I never drain any of my bowls. I never have an issue with my carbs. I clean my ally carbs often but they never sit with methanol in them for long periods. I purge after every use and they sit with gas in them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. I would like to see pics of the exhaust n transfer work. Regardless there's other issues. Bone stock internals with air box n CPI like 300 ish mains. I would go through all electronics with a fine tooth comb. Also if his mechanic trimmed the domes himself could be an issue there with bandwidth and angle . Where do you live? Have you tested/checked any electrical components?

  7. Yes sir! Might bump you down to 117, so Jeff and possibly Burke can also be right next to me. (They're needy like that)

  8. back when he first got this bike he had texted me pics of the port job after his top end went, the port job looked more than just a clean up. Transfers had been touched along with the intake bridge I think if I remember correctly maybe he still has the pics

  9. You might have an electric issue giving you a false rich condition from not burning the fuel correctly. 290 is way lean for that set up or the guy that told you it was ported didn't know what he was looking at . With porting I would have started 340 main 30 pilots toomey needle in the middle

  11. 117,118,119 are for sure taken, LOL, by me. You can call on 133, but they always tell me that one (and 3 others) are first come first serve. But I've witnessed otherwise.

  12. 25 pilot is probably lean as fun on the bottom end. Put a 30 in and try again. Slight ??? porting (huh?) CPIs with290 pilots sound lean too. 66.50 cylinders, thin to win?

  13. Whenever i'd leave my shee for ahwile, I'll just disconnect the CDI and take it with me. Laugh when you see someone who thinks they got it hotwired until they clue in if they have a clue.

  14. Keno basically gave you the run down... but something so easy that is over looked is rims and tires. So often i see people spend all kinds of money on motor builds and yet they choose the run the heaviest rim a tire combo. Rotating mass is HUGE. Invest in a decent rim and tire.

  15. You have several choices. Same pistons will be used. You have a choice of running a spacer plate under the cylinders so the pistons don't smack the head, or...you can get domes or your stock head cut/machined deeper so the pistons don't hit the head. Domes/head cut is the better method in my opinion. Now..that being said. Because you are changing the stroke of the engine, the porting and port timing must be changed to match that. So...figure porting to match the added stroke. If all that is done is matched porting and dropping a 4 mil crank in, figure a 7% rough increase in power...give or take, and more torque, too.

  16. More reliable motor. The longer rod (5mm longer, 115mm vs. stock 110) will cut down on the angle of the rod pushing the piston, and in turn will not try to push the piston through the cylinder wall. You might notice a little more HP or torque due to it spinning easier, but...not much to talk about. A piston with a pin height 5mm further towards the crown is used, called a "racer's choice" piston by wiseco, or a 795 series...or long rod piston. Blaster Pistons also use the 5mm offset pin, and if I'm not mistaken, it's .5 or 1mm offset towards the front of the piston as well. Not sure on that one...

  17. You don't want to polish your transfers. You want to keep them rough, it will help keep the fuel atomized in the mixture as it travels. The only thing you want polished on the inside of your cylinders is the exhaust. You won't want anything sticking in that area, you want it to flow fast nd clean out of there. Everything else you can leave a rough finish. You need a special 90

  18. banshee's bottle neck is the exhuast port. intake isnt that serious as some port people do it way more then necessary . just my 02 your intake ports look nicely done , but big red is 100 % right listen to him =-D
