<_< I want more low end.

i don't want to add gear (lower the ratio)

i don't want smaller tires (same effect)

i am very happy with the current top end power but want more bottom end torque

like a 400ex, just enough to pull the tires without any fuss

im also on a budget

I already have DG pipes, stock EVERYTHING else (except jetting)

heres my plan!

I want to add a prodesign adapter with a uni, and a set of boyseen reeds, to put on the stock cage. I also plan to purchase a cool head.

I want to mellow out the power, better for loggy trails

Will this give me a good increase in low end power?

or should i upgrade to a vforce(or w.e) aftermarket reed cage?

any advice would be greatly apprecaited

Sorry one more thing.

I don't want a 400ex (sleeping is more fun than riding one). I just want more bottom end power, for cheap. Im pretty sure these mods will do just that. I already have a big assortment of main jets, and some pilots too (banshee spec).

cheapest way to increase low end power/throttle response is timing advance +4 degrees using a ricky stator timing plate $35, mill stock head .030" - $50, lighten flywheel - $50

Reeds will help some but not as much as the above and the airfilter with adapter plate and take the airbox lid off and correct jetting will help too but is mainly necessary to prevent dirt gettng by the stock filter.

i would skip all that and just have your cylinders ported by eric gorr. he does an excellent woods port that will give you more bottom end and midrange than all those mods combines. plus its only 200 bucks.i would really consider this as you will see a huuge difference in your bottom end. sredish and stclark816 on this site have the gorr woods port and they are both extremely happy with it. thats what i would suggest you do.

<_< Eric Gorr eh?

where does he work out of?

How can i get ahold of him (i'll search the net)?

I live in Canada, but i don't ride all winter (sledding and ice fishing) so shipping my jugs won't be a problem.

I don't want to shave my stock heads, i would rather just get a coolhead and gain some compression(?), bling, and run a little cooler. It is a step most banshee owners take anyway right? So If Gorr ports my jugs (im assuming he does exaust only?), I get some reeds, a coolhead, and a Filter thats better than stock - I should get that low end pull i dream of  . Sounds like a plan

Maybe i'll put some good pistons in her while the barrels are off. :headbang:

he doesnt have anything about banshees on his website so i would just give him a call. he can do a total rebuild and the porting for about 400 bucks i think. thats a hell of a price for what you get. if you want a head get a noss head through "dlnoss" on this site. he can set you up. gorr wiull polish your exhausts and port the intake out. with the porting alone you will have all the bottom end youll ever need, all the rest will make it even better.

I'd get the Noss head, maybe woods port, timing key +4, boysen petals, if your still not satisfied,, then go w/ some Ptr mid pipes. They will definately do everything your looking for alone, but are pricey. I have these pipes and love them. Almost no power hit, smooth and pull hard as hell. I pull a 16/42 gear w/ no problems and have a top end of about 88mph. This is w/ stock porting.

I'd try going up a tooth first unless you run sand.  When I got my shee it was geared 12/41 I've gone all the way up to a 16/40 and I have settled on 15/40 at the moment. It's much nicer on the trails less shifting, 2nd-3rd gear wheelies at the push of the throttle and if you have a straight away you will smoke everything else.  You can actually gain acceleration on a 2-stroke by going up in the front if your traction limited.

Good point. I ride sand only though.....

HIGHER GEARS?

hmmm more traction=Wheelies

dammit thats smart!

everyone always says " man i need lower gears in my truck, car, or w.e." But in my case i do not need torque multiplication, i just need to get the finicky motor where it wants to be <RPM wise>. Then i can get that porting work, the head, reeds, and something else ive seemed to have forgotten now. Either way, if i team that with a 15/40 (or w.e, i got extra gears in my garage) ratio, play around with the gearing till im happy, ill be where i wanna be! :bolt:

next thing to modifiy is gonna be suspension, but that can wait :headbang:

Banchetta,

That dyno looks great for a stock stroke and cylinders.  :headbang: Did you just clean them up, or what?

The intake actually has a rubber teflon sprayed inside the ports. Its all black and smooth inside the intakes. the exhaust is just stock....I think the head mods w/ the mid pipes just work well together...
