jesse1004 Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 love the gravel roads, live in nebraska so theres plenty of them Quote
shanYE west Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 In michigan's U.P its legal to ride down certain roads. Its definately a differt ride! I'm looking forward to heading up to our cabin and doing some more riding this summer! Quote
dragbanshee Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Around here were not blessed with the dunes, but the bean fields and dirt & gravel roads are pretty fun I just wish we had a place for drag racing, flat track. Quote
awaitedshee Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 yes dirt roads are the best around here we have tons and almost all of em have all kinds of different banks of corners and sharpness ect. some ppl have gotten pissed tho when you wiz by in 6th gear haha Quote
nick t Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 most of my riding is in fields, and on the road. the cops out where i live dont seem to care unless they get a complaint. they tried to impound my bike last summer cuz i was doin wheelies in a neighborhood. the only reason i got out of it is cuz the guy was with started talking about how he was on leave from the marines and i was just trying to give him a good time. luckily the cop was ex military so they had a noce talk and i was told to stay out of neighborhoods. fun shit Quote

I love jumpin on the play bike and blastin down the dirt back roads out by me. My friends and I ride for hours and never hit the same road twice. Its a blast Quote
dajogejr Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 I'm telling you guys, St. Helens is ok, the trails by Peacock are pretty good (Big O and little O trail) but the UP trails are hard to beat fo sho... And unlike the lower, they welcome you with open arms in summer time. Figure they have hunting season and snowmobile season, that's it. They get it....that 4 wheel ATV guys can supplement their income by taking care of them. That's something lost on the DNR/Police/Local biz in the lower....too bad. Once I get a trail quad, we all need to plan a long UP weekend for trail riding...it's a blast!!! It'll be nice to put some gas in the tank and just go ride and have fun, good change of atmosphere for all of us!! Quote
Coupelx Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 love the gravel roads, live in nebraska so theres plenty of them same here. with genoa being the only place to ride within reasonable distance, ive been known to hit up some back roads for 'testing' Quote
HammerShee99 Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 I'm in north-central Nebraska, and gravel roads are damn near the only thing we have around here unless we have permission to ride in pastures or gravel pits. Thanks to MSHA riding on gravel pit land is quite illegal, so although we have permission from the land owners, if we get caught out there a lot of people get screwed over. There are a few small private tracks around here too, but no matter how many times the issue is brought up, nobody's willing to take on the responsibility of building and maintaining a public track. That leaves us with gravel roads. Around here, the possibilities for riding on gravel are pretty much endless, because that's about all there is, and everybody rides utility quads on gravel anyway, so nobody really cares about sport quads and dirt bikes ripping down the roads.
