Me and my buddy bought 2 banshees and we want to do some mods. He says hes gonna give his bike to this shop that he knows about to tune it (its not running properly) and he said the guy at the shop will put some kind of a pin in the flyweel and that will give it 2 more HP is that possible? how does that work? also what are some easy to do mods that i can do myself to mine (i have good mechanical ability). I already have 2 into 1 dynoport exhuast.

bolt on mods? or mods that will take some work. what kind of performance gains you looking for? what kind of riding are you doing? just a few questions that will help the big gurus on here.

Yes he will put a flywhell key in to advance to timing. I noticed a big difference with mine at +5. It will also cause your banshee to run a little hotter, I wouldnt start messing with stuff like that until you ride it awhile and work out any other bugs. There isnt much room for error.

You can buy an offset key to advance the timing. It isn't adjustable and have broken before, typically if the flywheel isn't reinstalled correctly. Others have had good luck with them. Or you can buy an adjustable timing plate and replace your stock one (or modify your stock one to make it adjustable. Your stator and pick up mounts to the timing plate and rotates around to adjust the timing.

I would suggest the latter. You can pick a timing plate up off of ebay for about $35, it is fully adjustable, and you have the piece of mind that the key wont shear and damage your crank or stator.
