mississippi banshee Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 (edited) how does it help in speed shifting and what are the pros and cons to it and do you have to have a high hp bike to run it Edited July 30, 2008 by mississippi banshee Quote
Bansh-eman Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 search is your friend http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...t=0&start=0 that is by no means the only post to read about over rides either. Quote
mississippi banshee Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 (edited) when they say duneable 1-5 does that mean you could trail and dune with that over ride or just dune Edited July 30, 2008 by mississippi banshee Quote
Bansh-eman Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 A duneable is just a different type of cut. It is more precise and allows more back loading without bending the shift forks. You also don Quote
mississippi banshee Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 who makes a good over ride and if you have a link that would be just what i need and can you install them your self an if so how hard is it Quote
LS1Inferno Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 who makes a good over ride and if you have a link that would be just what i need and can you install them your self an if so how hard is it FAST and i believe you just replace the old gears and shafts with new one and you will likely want the shift star to go with it. mississippi banshee Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 someone just told me about some company called WCR have you heard of them Quote
S-oregon Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 someone just told me about some company called WCR have you heard of them WCR, does a great job on duneable's. I have already had one of their duneable trannies installed on one of my cubs and am hoping the second dunable will arrive any day now so I can install it in my other cub. They really shift smooth and make a big difference when you are racing. You won't be disappointed. Quote
mississippi banshee Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 (edited) do you have a number or link for WCR and also how do you think it will preform on my trail/race bike i like high speed riding in the woods and racing 450s in feilds an on the highway they told me it would help with speed shifting so i would not tear my tranny up Edited July 30, 2008 by mississippi banshee Quote
okbeast Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Search overrides on ebay. WCR has some up and that's the quickest way I"ve found to get in contact with them. Quote
gst_r Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 just a question, on a full override of friend mine when i'm going to shift i don't need to release the throttle either i don't need to pull clutch but the problem is that you need to stop to down shift, so in a dunable override is the same i will not need to release the throttle and pull clutch but also i will can use that bike to also take a ride not only drag? Bansh-eman Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 someone just told me about some company called WCR have you heard of them the differance in duneable and normal override is that you dont have to stop at the end of a run to down shift with the duneable. the duneables are more presision cut and utilize springs between the rear shift forks Quote
Hilarious Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 just a question, on a full override of friend mine when i'm going to shift i don't need to release the throttle either i don't need to pull clutch but the problem is that you need to stop to down shift, so in a dunable override is the same i will not need to release the throttle and pull clutch but also i will can use that bike to also take a ride not only drag? yes you can ride a duneable almost like the stock trans. you can backload it up to a certain extent (8000rpm) without damaging the shift forks. backloading meaning, downshifting and using the engine to slow the bike down. J-Madd Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 FAST and i believe you just replace the old gears and shafts with new one and you will likely want the shift star to go with it. A shift star won't work with neutral down overrides, btw. The stock one has to be modified to move the neutral lobe. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 also if youwant to get a dunable dont bother going to FAST or any other places. go right to WCR he is having a killer sale right now on them Quote
