BlntdEyez Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 I rebuilt my top end about a week ago. Everything was fine she was running great until yesterday. I was riding around my house when she just died. I was about half throttle in 3rd gear. Its got spark and fuel to the bowls. Where should I go next? Quote
BlntdEyez Posted July 20, 2008 Author Report Posted July 20, 2008 Do you still have compression? I haven't ran a compression test yet. But I can kick it over and feel air coming out of the silencers. Quote
BlntdEyez Posted July 20, 2008 Author Report Posted July 20, 2008 Hows the plugs look? Are they wet? Plugs are a little black but not wet. I appreciate the help. Quote
shee4speed Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 Is it even trying to fire up?Is the choke tube connected between the carbs? Quote
BlntdEyez Posted July 20, 2008 Author Report Posted July 20, 2008 Is it even trying to fire up?Is the choke tube connected between the carbs? The choke tube is connected. About every 7 or 8 kicks it sounds like it kinda wants to backfire? Quote

ahcgt Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 Have you checked to make sure you didn't shear your key for your flywheel? Mine did the same thing your talking about. Ran and then just died. Was getting fuel and spark but would backfire after a few kicks. Turned out the key sheared and it had jumped timing. Took the flywheel off and re-aligned it where it was suppose to go and started first kick. Worth taking a look at if I were you. Quote
