jerod187 Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 k the cylinder closest to the kick starter would turnover fine but only like halfway and then it would stop so long story short i kicked it over and it spins fine now but theres a SHIT load of metal chunks in the oil so what happened.... any ideas? Quote
okbeast Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 id bet it ate 3/4 of a piston, or gouged like 34mm of the cylinder. why in the fuck would you keep kickin it over if it wouldn't go? that's like punching yourself in the face...you know it's gonna hurt and do some kind of damage Quote
jerod187 Posted July 8, 2008 Author Report Posted July 8, 2008 yaaa im stupid but saying that doesnt help me fix my bike..... no the pistons werent even on the rods. thats why i could figure out why it wosnt turning over Quote
okbeast Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 I'd say you need to split the cases and clean it all up good, especially with the multitude of other things wrong in other threads. Just tear it down adn start over fresh. Buy a clymers, take a weekend and do it. Quote
shee4speed Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 (edited) check your clutch basket. That sucks when stuff breaks.good luck. Didnt you just get you stuff back from Kevin?Did the bike run before. I dont get it. Edited July 8, 2008 by shee4speed Quote
J-Madd Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Metal in the oil could be from the clutch basket, kickstarter gear or idler gear clip...but not from damaged rods or pistons. Quote
okbeast Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Metal in the oil could be from the clutch basket, kickstarter gear or idler gear clip...but not from damaged rods or pistons. yes, i was just kidding. just start lookni around, if theres that much in it you should see something thats not right. J-Madd Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 yes, i was just kidding. just start lookni around, if theres that much in it you should see something thats not right. Yeah I figured that. I've read enough of your posts to know that you're more savvy than that when it comes to these engines. Quote
jerod187 Posted July 8, 2008 Author Report Posted July 8, 2008 ya its not the pistons or cylinders because they werent on the bike, so should i just take the side cover off and look because to be perfectly honest i dont trust my self to split the cases and put it back together Metal in the oil could be from the clutch basket, kickstarter gear or idler gear clip...but not from damaged rods or pistons. okbeast Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 hell you haven't even taken the clutch cover off yes. do that. look at everything. if something is really shiny or scarred up, thats where it came from most likely Quote
jerod187 Posted July 8, 2008 Author Report Posted July 8, 2008 Ya no i havent done really anything because it happened last night at like midnight Quote
2-stroke_couch Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 yea bro that happened to me. i opened the case at the clutch and i have little chips in the clutch basket and my starter gear. thats more likely than other stuff. Quote
sinisterboo Posted October 1, 2008 Report Posted October 1, 2008 check the clutch fibers real good. they break and shit goes everywhere. It seems like I break one set a season...... Quote
