bansheesickness Posted July 9, 2008 Author Report Posted July 9, 2008 so am i really gonna hate these cubs no matter what i do? im not into dragging at all, just the knarliest hill climbs i can find, and regular dune rinding Quote
jbooker82 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 It just depends. Give it some time and see how you like them. I would say your going to be happier with a stock ported cylinders though. Quote
bansheesickness Posted July 9, 2008 Author Report Posted July 9, 2008 i still have my stock cyclnders how much does it cost to do a dune port? what is a good company to have them done at? so a stock cyclnder that has been ported is going to be some what equal in power to a 400 cheata cub? when i bought the cub from trinity they said it had a "trail port" and the more i find out there is no such thing. i guess its some what ported right out of the box, they even charged me a porting charge. they saw me comming from a mile away. i like the power dont get me wrong, but i just wish there was a lil more bottom end. hopefully it will be a little better. now im runnig 110 race gas on 20 cc domes and advanced the timing 4 degreees, and have the pt mids now. i was told that upping the commpression and advancing the timing while running race fuel will give me more low end. Snopczynski Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 (edited) To run lower exhaust durations or a "Trail Port" you need to resleeve that cylinder and lower the porting. So unless they did that, it hasn't been done. If you want to know, just call them up and tell them your interested in buying one with a trail port job and ask them what they do or how they do a trail port on them. I cant believe you read all this and still went and bought the ptr setup, but oh well. Cascade chrome is nice, sent some pro circuits and cascade csfx stinger tubes down to them yesterday to get chromed. Did you buy csfx silencers with those pipes? jbooker82 Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 A trail or dune ported banshee will not have the top end a cub has. The cub is a drag ported cylinder right out of the box. The banshee is a very give and take motor. You have to give something up before you can get something in return. Get a pair of Jugs ported. Keep the Cub for now. Try the new ported jugs out. If you dont like them put the cub back on and put the ported jugs on your wife's banshee. Maybe get a hot trail port. Try them out. Not agressive enought slap them on the wife's shee and get the other pair of cylinders dune ported. You cant have 4stroke bottom end and cub top end power out of the same motor. josh Quote
