I have only just brought a brand new banshee. I have noticed the last 2 times i have washed it it wont start. I have to run start it to get it to fire. Water must be getting in somewhere when i wash it. If any one has any help it would be much appreciated.

When I wash mine I put a plastic sandwich bag over the intake snorkel. I also do that when hauling it on a trailer. I got caught in a storm one day heading to a riding area and the airbox got water in it. And after that, I'm a firm believer in sandwich bags!

Your not using a pressure washer on the motor, are you? I'd check the plug wires and make sure all connections are secure. I haven't had a problem with mine firing after washing it.

I used to have the same problem. I started covering my pods and carbs with wal-mart bags and making sure my headpipes were seated all the way. Since then no problems at all. I use a 2500psi pressure washer on my motor, just make sure you try to keep the pressure washer away from the bag, it will rip it to shreads. If you use a washer that has attatchments never use the thin jet. Some of them can cut through wood!

Are you getting the filter wet?I pressure wash mine also and fires right up.Water may be getting an electrical connector wet also. They make spray,I think silicone spray, that makes connections water resistant.Try that. And don't get your filter wet.

Probably going to be that snorkel like everyone else said.

Definately take your seat off and cover it...Jamebo had a good idea of the sandwich bag, and I'm going to use that idea here in a minute when I go to wash mine.

Obviously you should take extra care on cleaning around sensitive parts, like the carbs. You wouldn't want to force any dirt or water where it doesn't belong.
