All the packing has blown out and it sounds like shit.

Just wondering what everyone uses, and what works better,

that stringy shit that you pack in there or the padded stuff you can roll up and stuff in there.

Thanks.

If there are rivets..you drill them out.Take the silencer apart and roll the new padding around the tube inside, hold it tightly and put back in..put tip on and rivet it back togother...

most bike shops sell packages of packing. roll it as tight as you can around the screen/pipe and get all you can get in there.

actually you dont want to put it on as tight as possible, you just want it nice and snug. wrap it around and get some 1/2 in masking taper or packaing tape and wrap around it. dont make the tape cover the whole thing, just a really fast wrap nice and open to hold the packing in there, put the exhaust beack together and your set. some times the tape will burn off some times it wont. either or it wont effect anything. this is actually how most manufactors pack them.

Cool guys thanks for your advise.

I'm probably gonna just buy the toomey packing kit, that was suggested.

I used that on my T6's a couple years ago and I thought it worked pretty well.

So that should work fine. The Shearer silencers and toomey's are almost exactly the

same size.
