TRO73 Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) I bought the removal kit from Jeff at Fastoys and Jeff is a great guy to deal with. My question is exactly where to drill and tap for the idle screw... the directions say to file the angled threaded part flat but then I thought it said to not drill at that spot...maybe I read it wrong..but if anybody could tell me exactly where to drill...SOME CLOSE UP pics would be great.. In my manuel it shows how to remove TORS so I am assuming that those are the steps I need to take but the dam drilling and taping part is what I am worried about doing..so any help would be great. Anybody wants to send me pics to my email just shoot me a PM. Thanks Tony Edited June 11, 2008 by TRO73 Quote

Isaac_62 Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 on the outsides (side that faces away from your motor when mounted) of your carbs the spot to file, drill ,and tap is between the overflow hole of your carb and the threaded hole for the bracket in which keeps your carb caps from spinning... be sure to remove enough material from the boss so you have alot of adjustment in your idle screw. The hole you are drilling is actually a casted hole already so you cant really screw this up... hope this helped... Quote
RIPPEN Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Also when doing the drilling I stuck a screwdriver handle inside the carb as to not hit anything when the bit pokes through.. I heard that, that happens at times and can make the slides stick if the wall of the boars get hit.. RIPPEN Quote

RIPPEN so the bit does infact go all the way through the carb when u drill it? and then you tap the hole and put the idle screws in place correct? Quote
NitroTate Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 so the bit does infact go all the way through the carb when u drill it? and then you tap the hole and put the idle screws in place correct? Correct, just make sure you use some tapping oil when you tap them or you can break the tap off inside. NOT SO GOOD! Quote
