Maul Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 I have beat my head against the wall with jetting on this banshee. Runs great on the top but you got to keep it reved to the moon to get any power. Runs really rich on the bottom but I can get the bog almost out by scewing the air screws all the way in. I'm riding at sea level and have 250 mains and 30 pilots. Bike is mostly stock but in bored .30 over, T3 toomeys, and K&N pods. Thanks for any help. Quote
okbeast Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 250 mains are small and 30 pilots seem way big. I'd try more 25 or 27.5 and somewhere around a 320 at least with pods and pipes, not sure how the T3 pipes perform though. Quote
C&B Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Im with ok on this, If your turning the air screw all tehe way in, you makin it richer on the bottom. No way in hell you should have to run a bigger pilot. I run 27.5s even at sea level. Try those and a 300 main or even a 290. weres the clip at? Stock carbs? Quote
Maul Posted June 10, 2008 Author Report Posted June 10, 2008 The bike already runs rich ( no one likes following me ) I have tried 260's and had 25 pilots and it made no differance. Also I'm puzzled as to why turning the air screws all the way in which would make it richer make it run better on the bottom and mid. Quote
RadarRacing Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Since you are asking ?'s about jetting then you need jetting tips right? They gave you real close to where you should be as far as jetting. I'd also check for an air leak if the motor was just apart recently. Poor jetting changes with no real change in the way it runs if often an airleak or ignition problem not jetting. Quote
okbeast Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Yep on the airleak, no way you're rich at that jetting sorry. Quote
sinisterboo Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 How many ounces per gallon of 2-stroke oil are you using? too much oil could make you think your too rich, when actually you are too lean. Quote
ASRBanshee Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 How many ounces per gallon of 2-stroke oil are you using? too much oil could make you think your too rich, when actually you are too lean. no matter what his ratio is it isnt enough to change it to right jetting in his case. I would say bump up your main to atleast a 310. Quote
sinisterboo Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 I agree, I have 330 mains in my wifes bike with FMF fatty's, no airbox lid with k&n. If you have clamp ons and 250's you are damn lean. Quote

Maul Posted June 10, 2008 Author Report Posted June 10, 2008 Thanks guys. I also have another banshee that is .90 over, dg pipes, pods that runs great with 260 mains and 30 pilots so that is what i was going off of. Quote
J-Madd Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 I'd check the compression while your at it. WHen the compression gets low, the higher gears where there is more load on the engine, is where it is most noticeable. YOu probably are lean, but not sure it would cause the exact problem your describing. Quote
Pardee208 Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 sounds like your slides are in backwards. make sure the cutout is facing the air filter. Quote
