BaNsHeEs RuLe! Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 For general MX track stuff, I would play with it some, but try one tooth down on the front, if that's too much go a tooth or two more on the rear. It's more of what works for you, but generally stock would be a touch too high geared for me. And for sure get a -2 swinger, makes a world of difference in handling and hooking up. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 there are TONS of factors, so there really is no "one" way to setup a bike, rider weight, tire size, swinger length, type of motor work, carbs, pipes, all play thier own parts in determining what gearing to run, plus every track will be differant as well, if its a tighter track your gearing will be differant then a wide open track, and a loose dirt track will be differant then a hard clay track... You best best is goig to be to get a few differant gears and just test them out. Quote
ITALIABANSHEE Posted May 18, 2008 Author Report Posted May 18, 2008 Thanks for the info.... My shee is all stock.... Just wanted to know if changing sprocket size would make a big difference. Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 For my mx setup right now i run 14/40 with 18s but thats even too short honestly. Id say 15/40 or 41 is the ticket for for 18s. Thats just me though you have to take into account what your motor can pull your weight the bikes weight. YOull just have to play around with it Quote
