awaitedshee Posted May 2, 2008 Report Posted May 2, 2008 Is $150 shipped to my door for A-arms with spindles a good price? Or should I save up to buy actual Banshee A Arms that are extended? Im going to be alot of MX'ing. Quote
awaitedshee Posted May 3, 2008 Author Report Posted May 3, 2008 will they be good for mx? i plan on getting the shocks too soon. but i was just wondering how it will be for jumpin and all that. or should i get the banshee a-arms. help please. Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 With custom built shocks they should be fine for mx. Using stock yfz shocks will work but it wont hold acandle to a properly sprung and valved bike. Quote
awaitedshee Posted May 3, 2008 Author Report Posted May 3, 2008 so are you sayin i shouldnt get the shocks? later on i will buy better ones like elkas but i dont have that kinda money right now and what if i send the yfz ones in? Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Man yfz 450 arms ARE on and mx bike. The shocks will work fine , just if you can afford better shocks go for it. Quote

Oh i know stock 450 shocks work fine but im just saying if you can get alittle better shocks or get the 450 shocks revaled and sprung for best results Quote
Guest oz2216 Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 If you don't get the yfz shocks and use the stocks, the bike will sit really low in front. I had the yfz shocks and recently changd them to a set of yfz fox floats. I would still like to get a decent set of a arms though, My steering is extremely hard and I can only think it's caused by the upper a arm being the other way around which causes the ball joints to be out of line. I'm used to it now, but if I jump on someone elses bike I pick up a huge difference. Quote
awaitedshee Posted May 4, 2008 Author Report Posted May 4, 2008 what do you mean you pick up a huge difference? you mean your slower with the yfz a- arms im lookin for somethin good for mx for right now like if i decide to really upgrade my a-arms to a aftermarket set should i still go with yfz ones or get actual banshee ones? well i guess my real question is will the yfz front suspension, a-arms spindles and everything be good for mx Quote
Michael Jackson Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 (edited) the only thing id do is run longer shocks than yfz shocks if i was gona MX with it... i feel like you would be bottoming out alot with such little ground clearance and big jumps Edited May 4, 2008 by Michael Jackson Quote
Bansheeb0y5505 Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 what would happen if yo used long travel banshee shocks? too long? also, i had an idea of actually lowering the top shock mount to raise it up Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 Just go aftermarket, you'll be happier in the long run. I get better travel with aftermarket arms on those yfz shocks. I'll prob have one of the shops work the shocks though, i want something better! Quote
banshee21 Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 I got the complete YFZ front end on mine with shocks and all I do is MX and trails and I couldnt be any happier with the setup. Quote
