rigger Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 I have a 00' Banshee. Front brakes work pretty good but nothing like my 04' 400EX. On the Banshee, I just put new front brake pads on her, cleaned the rotors up and bleed the the system to get fresh fluid and any air out. They work fine but it is more like a four finger pull to get them to really come down hard and lock up the front wheels. Compared to my 400EX, she is a light two finger pull and she will lock up the front wheels. I know steel braded brake lines would help some. What else can I do to get the front brakes to be stronger and feel a little more like what is on my 400? Quote
wacko2000 Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 You got it, SS brake lines will do it for sure.. My brakes on my shee are night and day now that i have the ss on there.. Quote

shee rips Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 anybody happen to have a set of the yfz calipers kicking around? ive been wanting to do this for a while now. Quote
shee4202 Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 i picked up the whole front brake system, master cylinder down to the calipers for $50 on ebay. they work great. i also have the ss brake lines and wave rotors. the whole set up even without the rotors is a world of difference compared to the stockers. rigger Posted May 1, 2008 Author Report Posted May 1, 2008 Do the YFZ calipers bolt right on? If you could get a complete YFZ front brake set up for $50, that would be a great deal if they are that much stronger. I will have to keep an eye for some. Quote

I got the full set up pads, calipers, lines, master cylinder, lever on ebay for 99 cents 2 months ago. They work great so much better than stock. So keep looking on ebay. They do bolt right up unless you have a J arm bike. Quote

The 450 master cylinder is not 100% necessary, but it does have an e-brake function that some folks may like. :geek: Quote
