Thumper7999 Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 I'm going to be pulling my clutch cover early next week, and I was wondering what the odds are that I will be able to reuse the gasket? I'm hoping I can because I'm not sure I can get one beforehand, so if I can't reuse the one that's on it I need to rework my schedule to pick one up earlier. Thanks in advance for any advice. Quote

Thumper7999 Posted April 28, 2008 Author Report Posted April 28, 2008 thanks, I'll be gentle and hope for more luck than I usually have. Quote
Flanagans twin Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 depends on how long that stock gasket has been sitting in there, if its been in there for a while it might be too flattened out to work again. id use a new one, just my opinion Quote
dante Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Does any one just use RTV sealer? It works for me... Clean the cover, apply a thin coat, wait 15-20mins the apply the cover. Quote

Thumper7999 Posted May 4, 2008 Author Report Posted May 4, 2008 I reused the gasket...the cover came off nice and smooth. it's an '06, so the gasket hasn't been on for an excessively long time. I took it around the house for about 20 min. and pounded her pretty good, no leaks, so I think I'm good. Thanks Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 Chances are that stocker is going to stick & rip. Grab a new one, apply a thin coat of grease on it. It won't stick this way & can reuse next time. Quote
