hercalmighty Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 I'm trying to replace my axle and I cant get the damn sprocket hub off. I tried pullers and a press with out any luck. Is there a trick that I'm missing or what? Please help me out because I just got new +2 +1 arms and Elka shocks that I want to try out but this F-ing axle has me locked up :: Quote
Bansh-eman Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 your not trying to spin it right? get some PB Blaser and soak the splines. and just hit it with a rubber mallet it should come off Quote
Dinner Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Only thing that holds the sprocket hub on is the axle nuts...you have those removed right? Unless your splines are very rusted and the sprocket seized itself to the axle...hitting it with a rubber hammer like Banshe-eman should do the trick. Good Luck  Quote
hercalmighty Posted April 16, 2008 Author Report Posted April 16, 2008 I tried a hammer and a puller and then a press with no luck. I did soak the hell out of the thing. Only thing I didnt try is heat but I dont have a torch only a heat gun(That will take me a year to heat up). Yes I did take off the nuts they came off in 2 minutes. Quote
hercalmighty Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 Ok. I got the damn thing off. It only took a 50 ton press and and a torch. I love how the manual say to just pull the thing off. Oh well its all good now and I can start putting it back together  Thanks for the help guys Quote
