bansheejoel Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 and some Gasser has to go there and beatup on those crappy oil burning diesels every ones and a while. lol crappy oil burning diesels? ok, first off stock for stock i would rather take a diesel anyday besides the price of fuel but they sure as hell get better mpg than that v-10. my buddy had a f-250 with a v-10 in it and my dad has a 2004 f-250 powerstroke with propane injection, chip, bigger injectors, banks exhaust and a banks turbo kit and it will SMOKE that v-10 anyday those things are gutless. You can have your supercharger i would take a turbo diesel put 5k into it and smoke your ass, in a race and pulling. Ofcource a stock diesel against a supercharged v-10 is going to lose but a stock powerstroke will still kick its ass in towing hands down. I dont care what you say, my vote is for "crappy oil buring diesels" Quote

I will stick with a diesel truck that gets 16mpg and has more power/torque than a "v-10" I was totally joking when i said that, i really dont care either, but now i do, 1) ford stopped making the 7.3L in 2003 due to the fact it could never meet EPA regulations, it was the best diesiel ford ever made, the power stroke and the IDI non turbo ( I own one) 2) ford made its bastard child 6.0L to replace it, it was plagued with problems from 2004 up not all were but they had tons of problems, bad wiring harnesses, bad injectors, turbos that would go out, coolant in the oil ect. the list goes on and on even the new 6.4L twin turbo job 1's have qiut a few problems. 3) Ford still makes the V10 it came out in 99 and replaced the 460 gasser, In 02 ford upgraded the heads to a PI and it made like 310 hp and 425 ftlbs stock then in 05 ford upgraded to the 3v heads and they make 362 hp and 457 ft lbs (thats no joke) FORD STILL MAKES THE v10 and it might be replaced in 2010 by a 7+ letter v8 and the 5.4 will be replaced by the 6.2L huricane engine (or boss) 4)I have never seen 8mpg's and it really annoys me when people who have never owned or driven one try to rag on it, you dont know. on the highway i get 14 and in the city/pulling trailers/ off roading i get 10 5) hey maybe your dads truck is faster, i dont care it was 6k+ than my truck just to buy it then another 5K+ (it realy sounds more like 10K from what you listed) so thats 11+ more than what i have in my truck, and you buy 4.20 gas, your oil changes cost around a 100. My truck can beat most (fricken cummins) diesel that has a chip exhaust and cold air, after that when people get into bigger turbos bigger injectors ect, then i cant. I may not know a lot about banshees but i know my $hit about fords, trust me, I dont have 1 emblem on my truck that says supercharged, just so when i role up to a powerjoke (that probaly realy pissed you off lol) and smoke it, they dont know what hit them. thats my 2 cents how you like them apples Edited April 25, 2008 by meanv10 Quote

Im not trying to be a dick or anything but personally i would take a diesel over a gas (fullsize truck) anytime, besides for fuel prices. You are correct on there factory turbos being kinda iffy, and the injectors being junk. That being the reason my dad got a different turbo and different injectors. Every truck is going to have its problems untill they figure out all the bugs. Also oil changes dont cost $100 fuel filters are cheap as are oil filters, the most expensive thing is the oil b/c it takes so much. The only thing i dont belive is that you get 14 mpg out of it on the highway. I had a 1999 f-150 with the 5.4 triton and that fucker got around 14 and thats lighter and has two less cylinders. I dont want to be a prick or anything, i dont come on this site to start shit but if i see someone talking shit about something i like im going to ask them why they have a problem. Other than that maybe sometime this summer i can show you some DIESEL POWER up at silver lake and we can line them up. You clearly like your v-10 and i clearly like any turbo diesels. Quote

I take $hit on a daily basis for driving a v10 sary if im a little defensive. When i originally was talking about " beating up on oil burners" it was only a joke the bad thing about the Internet is you cant tell when people are being dead serious, or just joking around. I dont like to advertise what i have, over the Internet i dont care, but in real life you wouldn't be able to tell its supercharged unless i open the hood. I like it because i can guarantee that there isn't one person you know or any of your buddies know that own a superchared v10, and thats why i like it it stands out. Im sure you have run into alot of douchebags with v10s and think that just cause they have 2 more cylinders they think its a fricken rocket ship, just like the kids that have a diesel that they put a tuner on and it makes a little smoke so they think its the coolest thing since sliced bread and faster than any other moterized viechale ever made. Ill see you up at silver (if its not raining, or snowing)lol Its just like banshees, you will never have the fastest, the coolest, or the nicest there is always someone out there that owns one thats a little better. all it takes is money. I didnt know you were joking around or i wouldnt have said anything. Your right it does all take money, alot of people on here wouldnt think my shee is shit but to me i think its fast but i also dont have 5k into a 10mm. Its all about how much you want to spend. Im not putting down your truck as i like fords also, i am a little deffensive towards diesels as you are deffensive towards your v-10 is all what you like, no hard feelings. All we need now is some nice weather so we can tear up silver. Quote

Ya it got a little off topic, dont get me started on Chevy's, lol You didn't think it was a tad windy/ cold, did you? It was warm in my truck,lol The drag strip was smooth as glass, a little water logged, only a few ATV's were drag racing, nothing to impressive there that i saw. Quote
