Isaac_62 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Guys, I am reassembling from the rebuild. I cant seem to get the front brakes to bleed. The brake will get hard like its supposed to then after while the pressure in the line will just go away. I cant see it leaking anywhere at all. Ive looked all over the system. All i did when i took it apart was disonnect it at where the hard brake lines meet the hose brake lines. pads are still same ( not new ones). what do you guys think. I bled these things for an hour yesterday so its starting to get annoying. All help appreciated. Thanks in advance, Quote
yamaha_daniel Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 hey buddy ,,,,,, no damp spots anywhere there should be somewhere are you bleeding both fronts? ...check around the piston on each brake caliper....im having a bleeding issue myself my bleeder screw is broke off and i cant figure out how to get it out. hope this might help Quote
91banshee Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 if you dont have any leaks then you still have air in the system still . Quote
nayr742003 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 i had that problem and it was i dropped one of them brass o-rings Quote
dekker Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 take the fitting out and put your finger over the hole let off when you pump then put your finger back over the hole when you release the lever. once you get a good flow put the bleeder back on and pump a couple more times then lock it up tight .... worked for me Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 you have air in the lines. get a mityvac and pump them out. I spent 2 days trying to prime my brakes and nothing worked. got a mityvac and took care of it in like 5 mins Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Make sure that you keep the reservoir full as you bleed the system. Quote
sheefreak Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Cheap way to bleed them out is get a top from a gear oil bottle(coned) and some tubing about the same size as your bleeders. Attach the tube to the bleeder and the coned top w/zip ties. Get them tight so they don't pop off. The top off the gear oil will fit right on the threads of a typical bottle of brake fluid. Open your bleeders and squeeze the shit out of the bottle till you get the air out of the lines and fluid seeps out the other bleeder(in the case of fronts) and air stops bubling up the reservoir. Cap off your reservoir, remove tubing from bleeder, pump brake lever couple times to make sure all air is out, close off bleeders. Quote
