Bansh-eman Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 so passion racing is just his side job/hustle??? yup this is a side hing for him Are you serious?Does his day job consist of ATVs? i dont not think his job is anything related to atv's or even near the industry Quote
nayr742003 Posted March 19, 2008 Report Posted March 19, 2008 it seems to me that when u send you motor to jim or anyone else its all about patience for the best results adn any builder that i have ever delt with or talked to tells you 6 to 8 but they do really mean 14+ and they all do awsome work for you if you wanted a rush job send it to a hacker and then you will have something to complain about Quote
sheeblue01 Posted May 9, 2008 Author Report Posted May 9, 2008 Finally got my engine back from Passion yesterday, I couldn't be happier. I only had a chance to open up the crate and check it out. The port work looks amazing as does everything on the engine. Next weekend I will have a chance to place the engine back in the frame and break it in. If it runs half as good as it looks I will be very pleased. Quote
dajogejr Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Yep...most builders are gonna be SWAMPED now...cause it's getting warm EVERYWHERE.... A lot of guys that port/build motors have real, full time other jobs because porting motors doesn't always pay the bills. It could take 5 to 10 hours or more to port cylinders. You pay 300 to 500. Do the math, no one is getting rich in this business. They do it for the love of the sport...and the personal challenge. Lots of these guys work their day job then spend time in the garage till all hours of the morning, day in, day out....and weekends too. It's a thankless job.... Quote
wacko2000 Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 What did Jim do to your motor? Jim is a great builder, all i got is a mx port and some other goodies and my bike is a blast to ride and have upset numerous 4poke riders.. You are not going to be disapointed the slightest bit Jim has another set off jugs for a 4mm setup for me as we speak, cant wait for those to come back. make sure you report back after you take that for a rip, have fun and HOLD ON.... I had Jim rebuild the entire engine pretty much.. One cylinder had to be resleeved, then they were ported, new clutch, new crank, pistons, new head that has been shaved for more compression. I sent him my entire engine that was nothing but metal shavings and he sent me back a masterpiece. Quote
