airtite Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 Hi All I dont have access to buying the TORS eliminator kit down here in South Africa. I managed to pick up the carb tops off a freind who gave me his twist grip, I put the tops on and I have used the screws on the carb tops to set the idle and it works but... I am not too happy doing it this way. Does anyone know what idle screw I would ask for? The tap etc wont be a problem. Quote

I personally have been able to adjust the stock carbs without ever needing the idle screws. If you take the slack out of the cable using the adjuster screws in the carb tops and make sure they are in sync and rise together. You shouldn't need the screws at all. Quote

bunboy1 Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 hi there, i got my idle screw kit from ebay. it cost me 25 us dollars shipped. it is not safe to use the top adjusters to set the idle speed because if you turn your bars the throttle will open slightly. i have my carbs bored to 27.5mm, so air passes around my throttle slides, so i really didnt need the idle screws, but i rather be safe then sorry. i hope this helps Quote
monster_energy06 Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 (edited) its a # 6 drill bit and tap is a m6x 0.75 for idle scews and it will fit any other mikuni idle screws off an other carb hope this helps Edited May 7, 2008 by monster_energy06 Quote
