bgbeards Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 I melted a hole in my piston while running up china wall in Glamis (one of the biggest and steepest sand hills if your not familiar). I made it 10 feet from top and it let go. This is only the senond trip I have had on it since new rebuild(bottom and top end). My mods are in sig. Running +4 ignition with 110 race gas mixed at 40:1. Jetting seems to be right based on other side at 162 main and 1 clip leaner. I sprayed the whole motor down with carb cleaner while it was running to check for leaks right before this ride. Also the temp had been running at about 190 all day. I checked the carb and the jet was clean. I also pulled the fuel line right after it happened and it seemd to be flowing just fine. I shouldn't need a dual pingel with just these mods right??? Any Ideas?? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 sounds like you had an air leak somewhere, 162 mains are fat. i run 155's and im a little rich still. replace it and make sure you check for leaks. take a look at your cylinders and make sure they didnt get damaged. Quote
